Abstract

Tanjung Perak Port is one of the gateways of Indonesia in the Eastern Region, because its strategic role is to become a center for collectors and distributors of goods to Eastern Indonesia in general and East Java Province in particular. Like most ports that are still actively operating, the port will certainly experience sedimentation or siltation. Sedimentation can result in siltation in the port pond. The presence of unconsolidated sediments in the waters will affect differences in interpretation of depth which will affect the calculation of dredging volume. To get a picture of sediment deposits at the bottom of the sea, it is necessary to conduct bathymetry surveys with acoustic instruments with different frequencies. The acoustic instrument used in this research is a dual frequency single beam echo sounder. The processed data is a dual frequency raw single beam echo sounder data acquired by PT Pelindo III on August 30 to September 4, 2018 in the waters of the port of Tanjung Perak Surabaya. The research location is the waters classified as shallow waters. This can be seen from the depth values ranging from 0-12.8 m to LWS. Differences in depth values detected by a single beam eco sounder low frequency (38 kHz) and high frequency (200 kHz) differ at each point. The maximum difference in detection depth is 2.260 meters and a minimum is 0 meters. While the maximum thickness of sediment deposits is 1.950 m and a minimum of 0 m. The thickness of the seabed sediment deposits is influenced by the morphological conditions of the seabed. The total volume of overall sediment deposition thickness is 59784.580 m3 .
