Abstract

Limbah cair pabrik bioetanol berupa vinasse masih jarang dimanfaatkan, padahal pada proses industri bioetanol setiap 1 liter alkohol yang diproduksi menghasilkan 10-30 liter vinasse. Limbah ini tidak dapat langsung dibuang ke lingkungan karena kadar BOD serta COD yang tinggi. Dari permasalahan tersebut maka didirikanlah pabrik biometana yang terintegrasi dengan pabrik bioetanol. Proses pembuatan biogas dari vinasse terdiri dari empat tahap yaitu pre-treatment, persiapan starter, digestion, dan purifikasi. Kadar BOD (36.792 mg/L) dan COD (137.800 mg/L) relatif tinggi serta pH (4,18) cukup asam sehingga dilakukan pre-treatment untuk mengondisikan substrat sesuai dengan kondisi hidup bakteri metanogenesis. Tahap starter dilakukan untuk mempersiapkan kotoran sapi dan nutrisi yang dibutuhkan untuk pengolahan biogas. Selanjutnya masuk ke tahap ketiga yaitu digestion dimana fermentasi anaerob dilakukan menggunakan tangki berpengaduk samping (biodigester) dan menghasilkan biogas. Untuk meningkatkan kualitas dan harga jual produk maka biogas akan melalui tahap purifikasi untuk meningkatkan kadar CH4 sehingga produk layak disebut biometana. Produk berupa biometana ini dapat dimanfaatkan untuk pembangkit listrik dan didistribusikan melalui gas pipa. Untuk mendirikan pabrik Biometana dari Vinasse Pabrik Bioetanol diperlukan total modal investasi sebesar Rp84.954.166.983 dengan estimasi penjualan per tahun Rp103.395.704.288. Dari perhitungan analusa ekonomi didapatkan Internal Rate of Return (IRR) sebesar 24,57%, Pay Out Time (POT) sebesar 7 tahun 6 bulan, serta Break Even Point (BEP) sebesar 39,94%. Ditinjau dari aspek teknis dan ekonoms pabrik Biometana dari Vinasse Pabrik Bioetanol ini layak untuk dilanjutkan ke tahap perencanaan.

The liquid waste of the bioethanol plant in the form of vinasse is still rarely used, whereas in the bioethanol industry process every 1 liter of alcohol produced produces 10-30 liters of vinasse. This waste cannot be disposed of directly into the environment due to high BOD and COD levels. From these problems, a biomethane plant was established which was integrated with the bioethanol plant. The process of making biogas from vinasse consists of four stages, namely pre-treatment, preparation of starter, digestion, and purification. BOD levels (36,792 mg / L) and COD (137,800 mg / L) were relatively high and pH (4,18) was sufficiently acidic so pre-treatment was carried out to condition the substrate according to the living conditions of methanogenesis bacteria. The starter stage is done to prepare cow manure and nutrients needed for biogas processing. Then enter the third stage, namely digestion where anaerobic fermentation is carried out using a side stirred tank (biodigester) and produce biogas. To improve the quality and selling price of products, the biogas will go through the purification stage to increase the CH4 level so that the product is worthy of being called biomethane. This product in the form of biomethane can be used for electricity generation and distributed through gas pipelines. To establish a Biometana plant from Vinasse Bioethanol Factory, a total investment capital of Rp. 84,954,166,983 with an estimated annual sales of Rp. 103,395,704,288. From the calculation of economic analusa obtained Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 24.57%, Pay Out Time (POT) of 7 years 6 months, and Break Even Point (BEP) of 39.94%. Judging from the technical and economical aspects, this Biomethane plant from Vinasse Bioethanol Plant is feasible to proceed to the planning stage.
