Abstract

Penelitian material pelapis hidrofobik yang dilakukan dengan variasi konsentrasi 1 gram, 1,5 gram , 2 gram dan 2,5 gram telah berhasil disintesis dengan metode sol-gel dan dengan bahan dasar Tetraethyl Orthosilicate (TEOS). Pelapis hidrofobik berbasis Tetraethyl Orthosilicate (TEOS) dikarakterisasi dengan menggunakan X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Fourier Transformed Infrared (FTIR), Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), Water Contact Angle (WCA) dan Ultraviolet- Visible (UV-VIS). Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa partikel silika berbasis Tetraethyl Orthosilicate (TEOS) mempunyai struktur amorphous dengan morfologi bentuk smooth circular dan diameter partikel orde 1μm. Pengaruh variasi konsentrasi silika terhadap substrat pelapisan hidrofobik adalah semakin tinggi Konsentrasinya cenderung semakin tinggi nilai hidrofobisitasnya dan menyebabkan transmitasi cukup rendah serta mengurangi sifat transparasinya.

Research on hydrophobic coating material with variations in the concentration of 1 gram, 1.5 grams, 2 grams and 2.5 grams was successfully synthesized by the sol-gel method and with the basic ingredients Tetraethyl Orthosilicate (TEOS). Hydrophobic coatings based on Tetraethyl Orthosilicate (TEOS) are characterized using X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Fourier Transformed Infrared (FTIR), Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), Water Contact Angle (WCA) and Ultraviolet-Visible (UV-VIS). The results showed that Tetraethyl Orthosilicate (TEOS) silica particles had an amorphous structure with a smooth circular morphology and a particle diameter of 1μm. The effect of variations in the concentration of silica on the substrate of hydrophobic coating is the higher the concentration tends to be the higher the value of hydrophobicity and causes the transmittance to be lower and to reduce the nature of transparency.
