Abstract

Minyak pelumas bekas merupakan limbah Bahan Berbahaya dan Beracun (B3) sehingga perlu dilakukan pengolahan untuk menghindari dampak buruknya terhadap lingkungan. Salah satu pengolahan yang paling menguntungkan ialah pemurnian kembali menjadi minyak pelumas dasar. Minyak pelumas dasar golongan IV merupakan minyak pelumas dasar sintetis yang tersusun atas Polyalphaolefins (PAO). Berdasarkan data yang didapatkan dari Badan Pusat Statistik, jumlah kendaraan bermotor di Indonesia meningkat sebesar 8,2% per tahun. Seiring dengan meningkatnya jumlah kendaraan bermotor, maka meningkat pula kebutuhan minyak pelumas dan juga minyak pelumas bekas yang dihasilkan. Diperkirakan, pada tahun 2020 kebutuhan minyak pelumas di Indonesia sebesar 1,5 juta kiloliter, dan 5% diantaranya (75 ribu kiloliter) ialah minyak pelumas golongan IV. Adapun perkiraan minyak pelumas bekas yang dihasilkan pada 2020 sebesar 750 ribu kiloliter. Disamping itu, hingga saat ini Indonesia masih belum bisa memenuhi kebutuhan minyak pelumas dalam negeri dan terus melakukan impor. Berdasarkan data tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pabrik minyak pelumas dasar golongan IV dari minyak pelumas bekas di Indonesia akan sangat menguntungkan dari segi ekonomi, lingkungan, dan juga dapat membuka lapangan kerja sehingga dapat meningkatkan perekonomian negara. Dari analisa ekonomi, internal rate of return: 21,55%; payout time: 8 tahun; dan break even point: 50,32%.

Used lubricating oil is a waste of hazardous and toxic substances (B3) so it is necessary to do processing to avoid adverse impacts on the environment. One of the most beneficial processing is the refinement to become a basic lubricating oil. The base oil of class IV is a synthetic base lubricating oil that is composed of Polyalphaolefins (PAO). Based on data obtained from the Central Statistics agency, the number of motor vehicles in Indonesia increased by 8.2% per year. Along with the increasing number of motor vehicles, it increased the need for lubricating oils and also used lubricating oils. It is estimated that in 2020 the lubricating oil needs in Indonesia amounted to 1.5 million kiloliter, and 5% of them (75 thousand Kiloliter) is a group IV oil lubricant. The estimated used lubricating oil produced in 2020 amounted to 750 thousand kiloliter. In addition, until now, Indonesia is still not able to meet the needs of domestic lubricating oil and continue to import. Based on the data, it can be concluded that the base IV oil mill of the used oil lubricant in Indonesia will be very beneficial in terms of the economy, the environment, and can also open the job field so as to increase Country's economy.
