Abstract
Garam farmasi merupakan bahan baku yang banyak digunakan dalam industri farmasi yakni antara lain sebagai bahan baku infus, produksi tablet, pelarut vaksin, sirup, oralit, cairan pencuci darah, minuman kesehatan dan lain-lain. Industri farmasi dan produknya diatur secara ketat oleh Pemerintah. Farmakope Indonesia mengatur kadar NaCl dalam garam farmasi yaitu 99 % - 101% dengan impurities mendekati 0. Kebutuhan garam farmasi masih dipenuhi dari impor dikarenakan belum adanya industri lokal yang dapat memproduksi garam farmasi dengan spesifikasi yang tepat. Namun belum dapat memenuhi kebutuhan garam farmasi di Indonesia sehingga perlu dilaksanakan pendirian pabrik garam farmasi agar di masa yang akan datang Indonesia tidak perlu lagi mengimpor garam dan dapat melakukan swasembada garam. Lokasi yang dipilih untuk pendirian Pabrik Garam Farmasi direncanakan akan dibangun di kabupaten Sumenep, Madura khususnya di Kecamatan Kalianget. Proses yang dipilih dalam pembuatan sodium chloride adalah proses Elektrodialisis, karena konsentrasi produk yang dihasilkan lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan proses yang Solar Evaporation dan Zero Discharge Desalination, yaitu hingga 99,5 %. Metode elektrodialisis ini terbagi menjadi 4 unit proses yaitu Tahap Pre-Treatment Bahan Baku, Tahap Purifikasi, Tahap Pemasakan dan Tahap Pengolahan Produk.

Pharmaceutical salt is a raw material that is widely used in the pharmaceutical industry, which includes raw materials for infusion, production of tablets, vaccine solvents, syrups, ORS, blood washing fluids, health drinks and others. The pharmaceutical industry and its products are strictly regulated by the Government. Indonesian Pharmacopoeia regulates NaCl levels in pharmaceutical salts, namely 99% - 101% with impurities close to 0. Pharmaceutical salt needs are still met from imports due to the absence of local industries that can produce pharmaceutical salts with the right specifications. However, it has not been able to meet the needs of pharmaceutical salts in Indonesia, so it is necessary to establish a pharmaceutical salt factory so that in the future Indonesia will no longer need to import salt and be able to carry out salt self-sufficiency. The location chosen for the establishment of the Pharmacy Salt Factory is planned to be built in Sumenep district, Madura, especially in Kalianget District. The process chosen in the manufacture of sodium chloride is the Electrodialysis process, because the concentration of the product produced is higher than the process of Solar Evaporation and Zero Discharge Desalination, which is up to 99.5%. This electrodialysis method is divided into 4 process units, namely the Pre-Treatment of Raw Materials, Purification, and Product Processing Phase.
