Abstract

Jagung merupakan salah satu komoditas pertanian yang dibutuhkan baik untuk pangan maupun sebagai bahan dasar industri. Pemetaan dan identifikasi lahan jagung dilakukan dengan memantau fase pertumbuhan jagung (fase perkecambahan, fase vegetatif, fase generatif, dan fase masak) guna meningkatkan produktifitas pertanian jagung. Dengan mempertimbangkan luas dan sebaran spasial lahan pertanian, penginderaan jauh menjadi solusi pemantauan yang efisien dan akurat. Di Indonesia yang beriklim tropis, penginderaan jauh menggunakan sensor optik seringkali terhalang oleh awan, sehingga diperlukan sensor Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) yang mempunyai kemampuan menembus awan dan bisa beroperasi pada kondisi cuaca hujan. Untuk itu, dalam penelitian ini, data time-series citra radar SAR Sentinel-1A yang merekam daerah di Kecamatan Gerung, Lombok Barat pada bulan April 2018 sampai April 2019 dimanfaatkan untuk pemantauan lahan pertanian jagung. Klasifikasi fase pertumbuhan dilakukan dengan metode klasifikasi terbimbing menggunakan komposit RGB: VV, VH dan cross-ratio VV/VH. Dengan menganalisis nilai hamburan balik (σ°; backscatter), identifikasi tegakan jagung dan pola fase pertumbuhan tanaman jagung dapat dilakukan. Nilai koefisien σ° tanaman jagung diketahui berada pada rentang nilai -14 hingga -23 dB untuk polarisasi VH dan -8 hingga -14 dB untuk polarisasi VV dengan akurasi kappa sebesar 67%.

Corn is one of the most needed agricultural commodities both for food and as an industrial base material. Mapping and identification of corn crops is performed by monitoring the stages of corn growth (sowing, vegetative, generative, and harvest stage) to increase the productivity of corn farming. Considering the coverage area and spatial distribution of agricultural land, remote sensing is an efficient and accurate monitoring method. In Indonesia with a tropical climate, remote sensing using an optical sensor often hindered by cloud cover. For this reason, a Synthetic Aperture Radar sensor (SAR) which has ability to penetrate clouds and can be operated when rain is occurred is needed. In this study, time-series data of SAR Sentinel-1A radar imagery that was acquired in April 2018 to 2019 in Gerung District, West Lombok was used to monitor corn crops. The corn growth stages classification was performed by supervised classification method using RGB composite: VV, VH and VV / VH cross-ratio. By analyzing the backscatter value (σ°), identification of corn and its pattern of growth stages can be achieved. Coefficient of σ ° is within the range of -14 to -23 and -8 to -14 dB for VH and VV polarization, respectively with kappa accuracy of 67%.
