Abstract
PT. Meshindo Alloy Wheel merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang industri otomotif yang berpusat di Surabaya dengan memproduksi velg untuk kendaraan roda empat. Perusahaan harus bisa mempertahakan kualitas produk agar kebutuhan konsumen terpenuhi dan tidak mudah tersaingi oleh para kompetitor. Perusahaan bertekad menghasilkan produk yang berkualitas, sehingga perusahaan menerapkan pengendalian kualitas (quality control) dalam proses produksi agar hasil akhir produk sesuai dengan spesifikasi yang telah ditetapkan berdasarkan kebijaksanaan pimpinan perusahaan. Salah satu karakteristik kualitas yang diukur dan berpengaruh terhadap kenyamanan konsumen yaitu keseimbangan. Produk dikatakan cacat jika berat keseimbangan melebihi 45 gram, perbaikan berupa pembubutan ulang atau penipisan akan dilakukan hingga berat keseimbangan sesuai dengan batas spesifikasi yang telah ditentukan oleh perusahaan. Namun tidak semua produk dapat dilakukan pembubutan ulang karena terdapat ketentuan rim thickness yang berkaitan dengan keamanan dan kekuatan velg. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kapabilitas proses produksi dan mengetahui akar permasalahan penyebab cacat tidak seimbang. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa fase 1 tidak kapabel karena nilai Cp dan Cpk sebesar 0,80. Proses produksi pada fase 2 juga tidak kapabel karena nilai Cp dan Cpk sebesar 0,81. Penyebab velg tidak seimbang yaitu ketinggian flange stopper tidak sama, penataan velg di continous heat trestment susun dua, kerataan tiap flange velg tidak rata dan operator butuh penyegaran ulang.

PT. Meshindo Alloy Wheel is a company engaged in the automotive industry based in Surabaya by producing alloy wheels for four-wheeled vehicles. Companies must be able to maintain product quality so that consumer needs are met and not easily competed by competitors. The company is determined to produce quality products, so that the company implements quality control in the production process so that the final product is in accordance with the specifications set at the discretion of the company leadership. One of the quality characteristics that is measured and influences consumer comfort is wheel balance. The product is said to be defective if the balance weight exceeds 45 grams, repairs in the form of re-turning or thinning will be carried out until the balance weight is in accordance with the specifications specified by the company. However, not all products can be reprocessed because there are provisions for rim thickness related to the safety and strength of alloy wheels. This study aims to analyze the capability of the production process and find out the root causes of disability. The results show that phase 1 is not capable because the value of Cp and Cpk is 0.80. The production process in phase 2 is also not capable because the value of Cp and Cpk is 0.81. The cause of unbalanced alloy wheels is that the height of the flange stopper is not the same, arrangement of alloy wheels in continous heat treatment is two, the flatness of each flange wheels is uneven and operators need refresher.
