Abstract

Baglog waste or mushroom growing media that are not productive if not managed properly will become waste that pollutes the environment. Baglog with the main component of cellulose if degraded by microorganisms can be used as compost. The purpose of this study is to compost baglog waste which can be used as a planting medium. Making compost from baglog waste with baglog weak until it does not clot, then adding inoculants Bacillus cereus S1, Aspergillus sp., And Candida G3.2. Compost is incubated for 21 days in gunny sacks. Ripe compost is characterized by a material structure that is smooth, smells of soil, blackish brown and no more than the initial temperature. Caisim seeds aged 7 days are planted in planting media derived from baglog compost. NPK levels of compost were measured before application, after planting caisim and after harvest. Observation of biomass is carried out after harvest. Data analysis using Analysis Of Variance (ANOVA) with a significance of α = 5% if there are significant differences tested by tukey test. The results showed that baglog waste can be composted by Bacillus cereus S1, Aspergillus sp., And Candida G3.2 isolates. Concentration (NO3-) meets compost quality standards according to SNI 19-7030-2004 which is more than 0.4, but concentrations (PO43-) of less than 0.1 and (K2O) less than 0.2 have not met compost quality standards according to SNI. Baglog compost growing media in all treatments were not significantly different from plant biomass based on the Tukey test.
