Abstract

Pengembangan energi ramah lingkungan dan terbarukan sangat diperlukan saat ini. Sebanyak 82% energi yang digunakan di dunia merupakan energi fosil yang mana ketersediannya semakin menipis dan berpengaruh buruk bagi kesehatan dan lingkungan. Selain ketersediaan yang semakin menipis di bumi, penggunaan energi fosil menghasilkan zat buang yang berbahaya untuk lingkungan dan kesehatan makhluk hidup. Teknologi yang menggunakan energi terbarukan dan ramah lingkungan yang saat ini gencar dikembangkan yaitu kendaaraan listrik. Di Indonesia pengembangan kendaraan listrik secara utuh diawali oleh Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember dengan riset Sepeda Motor Listrik ITS. Kendaraan ini berpenggerak motor listrik BLDC Axial 5 kW dengan sumber energi listrik yang disimpan dalam baterai Li-ion 18650. Dalam pengembangannya hingga saat ini telah dilakukan berbagai pengujian kendaraan maupun masing-masing bagian kendaraan. Salah satunya pengujian banjir dan hujan menggunakan standar UN R136. Ditemukan permasalahan pada motor listrik 5 kW yakni casing motor listrik tidak mampu menahan air yang berakibat air masuk kedalam motor listrik menyebabkan arus pendek. Hal tersebut diakibatkan oleh desain motor listrik dimana tempat kabel penghubung antara motor listrik dengan kontroler terletak di bagian bawah motor yang menyebabkan air dapat masuk dengan cepat dan terutama material paduan aluminium berpori menyebabkan air dapat masuk kedalam motor listrik. Maka dari itu diperlukan analisis desain casing motor listrik 5 kW dengan proses pengecoran menggunakan metode elemen hingga supaya didapatkan casing motor listrik 5 kW yang aman digunakan dalam kondisi hujan maupun banjir dengan standar yang ditentukan.

The development of environmental friendly and renewable energy is needed at this time. As much as 82% of the energy used in the world is fossil energy, where its availability is depleting and is detrimental to health and the environment. Besides the depletion of availability on earth, the use of fossil energy produces waste substances that are harmful to the environment and the health of living things. Technology that uses renewable and environmentally friendly energy that is currently being intensively developed, namely electric vehicles. In Indonesia the development of electric vehicles as a whole was initiated by the November 10 Institute of Technology with the research of ITS Electric Motorbikes. This vehicle is powered by an Axial BLDC electric motor 5 kW with a source of electrical energy stored in a 18650 Li-ion battery. In its development to date various testing of vehicles and each part of the vehicle have been carried out. One of them is flood and rain testing using the UN R136 standard. It was found that problems in the 5 kW electric motor namely the casing of the electric motor were not able to hold water which resulted in water entering the electric motor causing a short circuit. This is caused by the design of an electric motor where the connecting cable between the electric motor and the controller is located at the bottom of the motor which causes water to enter quickly and especially the porous aluminum alloy material causing water to enter the electric motor. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the design of the 5 kW electric motor casing with the casting process using the finite element method to obtain a 5 kW electric motor casing that is safe to use in rain and flood conditions with the specified standards.
