Abstract

Penerapan sambungan Adhesive pada struktur ringan untuk kendaraan kini semakin berkembang. Keunggulan dari penggunaan sambungan Adhesive adalah dapat menyambungkan dua jenis material yang berbeda, sehingga memungkinkan penggunaan berbagai macam material ringan berbeda jenis dalam struktur rangka kendaraan. Sifat mekanis sambungan kontruksi harus bisa menjamin keselamatan penumpang sehingga perlu dikarakterisasi pada beban statik maupun beban dinamik. Sebagian besar penelitian membahas tentang kekuatan sambungan dan hanya sebagian kecil yang membahas tentang kekakuan sehingga penelitian terhadap kekakuan dinamis sambungan adhesive serta factor yang mempengaruhinya belum banyak dilakukan. Jenis sambungan tipe single lap joint merupakan sambungan yang paling banyak digunakan untuk kepentingan pengujian performa dari kekuatan geser adhesive karena dapat mengakomodasi beberapa ketebalan dan panjang overlap untuk mengetahui respon adhesive saat terkena beban geser.
Dalam penelitian ini, dilakukan eksperimen dan analisa pengaruh panjang terhadap kekakuan pada sambungan. Pada penilitian ini digunakan alat uji Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar yang dilengkapi dengan strain gage dan dynamic strain meter untuk menangkap sinyal gelombang regangan yang melewati alat split Hopkinson pressure bar. Spesimen yang digunakan adalah single lap joint dengan bahan Alumunium tipe 6061. Variasi yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah panjang overlap dengan 10 mm, 15 mm, 20 mm, dan 25 mm.
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui respon dinamis pada sambungan adhesive tipe single lap joint pada tingkat laju regangan 75/s menggunakan split hopkinson pressure bar. Spesimen sambungan terdiri dari alumunium berbentuk lap joint yang direkatkan oleh epoksi dengan panjang overlap yang variatif. Hasil menunjukan bahwa modulus young pada rentang panjang overlap 10 mm sampai 25 mm dari sambungan meningkat dengan penambahan panjang overlap adhesive dimana nilai maksimum berada pada panjang overlap 25 mm dengan kekakuan sebesar 3146.53 MPa.

The application of adhesive joint on light structure for automobile more used in this era. The advantage of using adhesive joint is it can stick two different type of material, so that make it possible to using many kind of light structure from different type of material in automobile frame structure. Mechanical properties of construction joint must assured safety for passenger, so that the characterization of construction on static and dynamic load must be conducted. The research of adhesive joint mostly explain about the strength of joint, and only a little do research about the stiffness of adhesive joint so the research about stiffness on dynamic load and other factor that influence it not much done by other researcher. Single lap adhesive joint is type of adhesive joint that mostly used in performance test of adhesive on shear strength because in this type of adhesive joint can accommodate various thickness and overlap length to get the response of adhesive on shear load. On this research, experiment and analysis influence of addition overlap length to stiffness of joint has been conducted. Split Hopkinson pressure bar with strain gages and dynamic strain meter to record strain waves that spread on pressure bar were used in this research. The material that used in adherend of single lap adhesive joint is aluminum series 6061. The variation of overlap length that used in this research are 10 mm, 15 mm, 20 mm, and 25 mm. The main purpose of this research is to get dynamic response of single lap adhesive joint when strain rate in 75/s using split hopkinson pressure bar. The specimen that used in this research consist of aluminum that form as lap joint stick together by epoxy with varied overlap length. The result of this experiment show that Young modulus on the overlap length between 10 mm and 25 mm from specimen has increase with additions overlap length of adhesive wherein the maximum value of stiffness is 3146.53 MPa when the overlap length in 25 mm.
