Abstract

Dewasa ini kebutuhan masyarakat terhadap air minum dalam kemasan sangat tinggi. Dibuktikan dengan jumlah produksi pada tahun 2016 tercatat mencapai angka 26,90 miliar Liter air. Sehingga, lahir perusahaan-perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang air minum dalam kemasan dan menjadikan perkembangan pasar bisnis air minum dalam kemasan terus meningkat. Perusahaan sering kali mengalami cacat pada hasil produksi karena proses produksi dilakukan secara terus menerus untuk memenuhi permintaan pasar. Dalam kegiatan produksinya PT. X pernah mengalami cacat produksi hingga 10% dari total jumlah produksi. Bentuk cacat salah satunya terdiri atas kualitas air tidak memenuhi standar baku mutu air minum dalam kemasan yang telah ditetapkan. Saat ini PT. X telah memiliki metode untuk mencegah terjadinya cacat produksi akan tetapi metode tersebut dianggap kurang efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan menerapkan metode Six sigma agar dapat mengurangi cacat pada kualitas produksi air minum dalam kemasan yang terjadi dengan meningkatkan kinerja unit pengolahan. Metode Six sigma merupakan metode sistematis yang menggunakan pengumpulan data dan analisis statistik untuk menentukan sumber-sumber masalah dan cara menghilangkannya. Metode Six sigma dalam menyelesaikan masalah terdiri dari lima tahap yaitu tahap Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, dan Control atau sering disingkat DMAIC. Kinerja unit pengolahan AMDK PT. X saat ini diukur dengan menggunakan beberapa parameter yaitu pH, kekeruhan, TDS, dan kandungan Coliform. Berdasarkan hasil analisa laboratorium sampel didapatkan bahwa parameter Coliform, pH, kekeruhan, dan TDS dalam air telah memenuhi standar baku mutu SNI 3553 – 2015. Jika diukur dengan level sigma kinerja unit pengolahan AMDK PT. X berada pada nilai sigma 6 yang artinya dalam proses produksinya kemungkinan untuk menghasilkan produk defect adalah sebesar 0 (nol). Adapun hal-hal yang dapat mempengaruhi kinerja unit pengolahan AMDK berdasarkan metode RCA (Root Cause Analysis) adalah dari machine yakni spesifikasi dari setiap komponen unit pengolahan yang digunakan, material yakni kualitas air baku yang digunakan, dan method yakni pelaksanaan SOP. Untuk meningkatkan kinerja unit pengolahan AMDK dilakukan dengan melakukan maintanance rutin pada setiap unit pengolahan. Pada unit filtrasi dengan melakukan penggantian media filter silica sand dan mangan zeolit setiap satu tahun dan karbon aktif setiap tiga tahun. Menggunakan ukuran media filter (unit filtrasi) dan pori membran (cartridge sediment filter) yang sesuai dengan karakteristik padatan dalam air baku. Pada injeksi ozon dengan mengganti ozon generator setiap dua tahun dan memperpanjang waktu kontak ozon (20 menit). Pada radiasi sinar UV dengan menggunakan panjang gelombang UV 265 nm, menggunakan daya lampu UV 19,08 W.h/m2 untuk efisiensi 99,9%, dan memperpanjang waktu kontak UV (20 menit).

Nowday, peoples’s demand for bottled water is very high. It is proven by the amount of production in 2016 which was recorded at 26.90 billion Liter water. Thus, companies born in the field of bottled water were born and made the development of the bottled drinking water business market continue to increase. Companies often experience defects in production because the production process is carried out continuously to meet market demand. In its production activities, PT. X has experienced production defects of up to 10% of the total production. One of the forms of defects consists of water quality that does not have the standard set of drinking water quality in the specified package. At present, PT. X has a method to prevent production defects, but the method is considered less e ffective. This study aims to apply the Six Sigma method in order to reduce defects in the quality of bottled drinking water production that occurs by improving the performance of processing units. Six Sigma method is a systematic method that uses data collection and statistical analysis to determine the sources of problems and how to eliminate them. Six sigma method in solving problems consists of five stages, which are define, measure, analyze, improve, and control or often abbreviated as DMAIC. Performance of bottled water processing unit PT. X is currently measured using several parameters, pH, turbidity, TDS, and Coliform. Based on the results of laboratory analysis of the sample it was found that Coliform parameters, pH, turbidity, and TDS in water had met SNI 3553 - 2015 quality standard. If measured by the level sigma, the performance of the AMDK processing unit of PT. X is in the value of sigma 6 which means that in the production process the possibility of producing a defect product is 0 (zero). The things that can affect the performance of the bottled water processing unit based on the RCA method (Root Cause Analysis) are from the machine, which is the specification of each component of the processing unit used, the material namely the quality of raw water used, and the method of implementing the SOP. To improve the performance of the bottled water processing unit, it is carried out by routine maintenance for each processing unit. In the filtration unit by replacing silica sand and manganese zeolite filter media every year and activated carbon every three years. Using the size of filter media (filtration unit) and membrane pore (cartridge sediment filter) that are in accordance with the characteristics of solids in raw water. On ozone injection by replacing the ozone generator every two years and extending ozone contact time (20 minutes). In UV radiation by using the appropriate UV wavelength 265 nm, using UV lamp power 19,08 W.h/m2 for removal efficiency 99,9%, and extending UV contact time (20 menit).
