Abstract

Lapis aspal beton (LASTON) adalah lapisan pada konstruksi jalan raya, yang terdiri dari campuran aspal keras dan agregat yang bergradasi menerus (well graded) dicampur, dihamparkan dan dipadatkan dalam keadaan panas pada suhu tertentu. Berdasarkan fungsi salah satu jenis laston adalah AC-BC (Aspalth Concrete – Binder Course). Penelitian ini membahas tentang pengaruh penambahan limbah plastik LDPE (Low Density Polyethilane) terhadap campuran AC-BC. Adapun material yang digunakan pada penelitian ini ialah: agregat kasar, agregat halus, aspal pen. 60/70 dan limbah plastik LDPE. Tahapan dalam penelitian ini yaitu: uji material, cek spesifikasi, menghitung kadar aspal rencana, pengujian penambahan LDPE dan analisa hasil pengujian marshall dan parameternya. Proses pencampuran LDPE menggunakan metode kering dengan menambahkan LDPE sewaktu pemanasan agregat serta pastikan LDPE menyelimuti agregat yang sudah ditentukan. Kadar aspal rencana menggunakan rumus Pb. Variasi kadar LDPE yang digunakan yaitu 0;2%;4%;6% dari berat aspal rencana. Setiap variasi kadar LDPE dilakukan pembuatan benda uji sebanyak 5 buah. Pada penelitian ini analisa hasil meliputi pengujian density, Void in Mix (VIM), Void in Mineral Aggregat (VMA), Void in Filled With Aspalth (VFA), Stabilitas Marshall, flow, Marshall Quotient (MQ). Berdasar pada spesifikasi Bina Marga 2018. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai kadar aspal optimum sebesar 5,65% dari pengujian marshall yang telah dilakukan, didapatkan nilai stabilitas campuran aspal yang ditambahkan LDPE mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan dibandingkan campuran aspal normal sebesar 2079,7 Kg. Selain nilai stabilitas juga terdapat hasil parameter lainnya yaitu density sebesar 2,37 gr/cc, flow sebesar 4,16 mm, VIM sebesar 4,43%, VMA sebesar 14,614%, VFA sebesar 80,0%, dan nilai MQ sebesar 456,07 Kg/mm semuanya memenuhi spesifikasi Bina Marga 2018. Campuran aspal plastik lapisan AC-BC dengan penambahan LDPE dapat mengurangi jumlah harga bahan sebesar Rp2.563,- per m³ dibandingkan campuran aspal normal.

Asphalt concrete (LASTON) is a layer in highway construction, consisting of a mixture of hard asphalt and well-graded aggregates that are mixed, spread, and compacted under hot conditions at a specified temperature. Based on its function, one type of LASTON is AC-BC (Asphalt Concrete – Binder Course). This study discusses the effect of adding LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene) plastic waste to an AC-BC mixture. The materials used in this study were coarse aggregate, fine aggregate, 60/70 penetration grade asphalt, and LDPE plastic waste. The stages of this study consisted of material testing, specification verification, calculation of the planned asphalt content, testing the addition of LDPE, and analyzing the results of the Marshall test and its parameters. The LDPE mixing process employed the dry method by adding LDPE during aggregate heating and ensuring that the LDPE uniformly coated the predetermined aggregate. The planned asphalt content was calculated using the Pb formula. The LDPE content variations used were 0%, 2%, 4%, and 6% of the planned asphalt weight. Five specimens were prepared for each LDPE variation. The analysis included testing of density, Void in Mix (VIM), Void in Mineral Aggregate (VMA), Void Filled with Asphalt (VFA), Marshall Stability, flow, and Marshall Quotient (MQ), based on the 2018 Bina Marga Specifications. The results showed that the optimum asphalt content was 5.65%. Based on the Marshall test results, the stability of the asphalt mixture with LDPE increased significantly compared to the conventional asphalt mixture, reaching 2079.7 kg. The other parameters obtained were a density of 2.37 g/cc, a flow value of 4.16 mm, a VIM value of 4.43%, a VMA value of 14.614%, a VFA value of 80.0%, and an MQ value of 456.07 kg/mm, all of which satisfied the 2018 Bina Marga Specifications. The AC-BC asphalt mixture with the addition of LDPE also reduced the material cost by Rp. 2,563 per m³ compared to the conventional asphalt mixture.
