Abstract
PT XYZ merupakan perusahaan multinasional yang bergerak di industri pangan. Pada proses pengemasan, ditemukan permasalahan berupa cacat kemasan yang mempengaruhi kuatlitas. Cacat kemasan ini dibagi menjadi beberapa bentuk yaitu produk tumpah, kemasan miring, cacat pada seal, dan cacat pada coding. Metode yang akan digunakan pada penelitian ini ialah metode DMAIC. Tahap awal dilakukan identifikasi permasalahan dengan studi lapangan. Kemudian parameter dan toleransi yang menentukan cacat produk diukur. Selanjutnya dilakukan analisis akar permasalahan menggunakan metode Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA). Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) digunakan untuk memetakan permasalahan. Tahap akhir ialah perencanaan standarisasi proses untuk mengatasi permasalahan. Dari penelitian ini didapatkan akar permasalahan cacat dari masing-masing cacat yang terjadi. Produk tumpah disebabkan oleh karet dan pegas gripper tidak terstandar, kevakuman antar kemasan, serta kevakuman bagian dalam kemasan. Kemasan miring disebabkan oleh karet dan pegas gripper tidak terstandar, kevakuman antar kemasan, kemasan bergelombang pada magazine, tekanan hisap tidak terpantau, serta produk tumpah. Cacat pada seal disebabkan wiring termokopel bermasalah, adanya listrik statis pada kemasan, komponen heater rusak, serta produk tumpah. Cacat pada coding disebabkan stempel karakter aus serta produk tumpah. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut dilakukan perancangan sistem baru berupa standarisasi beberapa aspek seperti standarisasi komponen karet dan pegas gripper, SOP pemasangan karet gripper, SOP pemeriksaan pegas gripper, pemeriksaan penyimpanan kemasan, SOP pemeriksaan dan persiapan pada shift pertama, SOP pembersihan area mesin pada setiap pergantian shift, serta sistem pencatatan histori cacat serta perawatan/perbaikan. Kemudian dari histori cacat yang baru dibuat peta kontrol P-chart untuk memastikan sistem bekerja secara terkontrol.

PT XYZ is a multinational company in the food industry. In the packaging process, the defective package is a quality problem. These defects are categorized into several types, which are spilled products, tilted packages, seal defects, and coding defects. DMAIC method will be used in this research. First step is problem identification by field study. Then measures parameter and tolerance to consider a product as defective. Next, root causes are analyzed using Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA). Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) is used to help probelms to be mapped. The final step is to plan process standardization to solve the problems. In this research, root cause is found from each defect that occurred. Spilled products are caused by unstandardized gripper rubber and spring, between packages vacuumed, and inside package vacuumed. Tilted packages are caused by unstandardized gripper rubber and spring, between packages vacuumed, waved packages in magazine, undetected suction pressure, and spilled products. Seal defects are caused by troubled thermocouple wiring, electric static in packages, broken heater component, and spilled products. Coding defects are caused by worn out character stamp and spilled products. To handle those causes, new system such as standardization of some aspect is proposed, which are standardization of gripper rubber and spring components, gripper rubber installing SOP, gripper spring checking SOP, package film inventory, check and prepare SOP for the first shift, machine area cleaning SOP for the between shifts, and history logging system of defects and repair/maintenance. Then, using the new defects logging system, P-chart is made to make sure system is working in controlled condition.
