Abstract
The people's salt contains NaCl which can be used as raw material for the manufacture of pharmaceutical salts. This salt is processed to produce 99.8% NaCl levels with very little impuritis content. Pharmaceutical salts are widely used for raw materials for drugs and cosmetics. The manufacture of pharmaceutical salts using the Multiple Effect Evaporation process is usually used saturated brine or fused with coarse salt originating from the ground or sea. The salt purification process is assisted by adding a mixture of caustic soda, soda ash and barium chloride to obtain a salt solution. After the salt purification process, the salt solution is concentrated using a multi-effect evaporator (multiple effect evaporator). The salt solution is then filtered for the process of separating salt crystals and slurry. The purified salt is then dried using a dryer and then filtered to obtain a uniform size. Pharmaceutical salts are then ready to be packaged and marketed. The plant's production capacity is 112,500 tons / year and the raw material needed is 26,847 kg / hour. The plant operates continuously for 24 hours / day, 330 operating days / year. The establishment of a pharmaceutical salt factory requires a fixed capital investment fee of Rp 1,439,280,981,587.70, working capital of Rp 159,920,109,065.30, the annual production cost of Rp 297,150,315,196.90 and yield annual sales of Rp 1,012,500,000,000. From economic analysis obtained BEP 33%, POT after tax 3.93 years. In terms of engineering and economics, this pharmaceutical salt factory is feasible to be established.
