Abstract

Ruang guru merupakan salah satu institusi yang menjadi inisiator untuk mengenalkan e-learning di Indonesia. Perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komputer di Indonesia menyebabkan peningkatan minat kompetitor untuk masuk ke pasar Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, Ruang Guru yang merupakan perusahaan asli Indonesia dan juga inisiator pada bidang ini harus meningkatkan daya saingnya. Salah satu produk yang dijual oleh Ruang Guru merupakan video e-learning. Video e-learning merupakan produk yang hampir dimiliki oleh setiap pelaku bisnis pada bidang e-learning. Peningkatan terhadap usability video e-learning Ruang Guru bisa memberikan dampak yang besar terhadap daya saing dengan kompetitor. Salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan usability tampilan video adalah dengan menggunakan alat eye tracker. Alat ini dapat merekam pergerakan pupil mata responden sehingga area-area yang dilihat responden pada video dapat diketahui. Hasil rekaman tersebut dapat dijadikan evaluasi terhadap desain tampilan video yang ada. Berdasarkan video pembelajaran Ruang Guru, elemen utama pada video umumnya merupakan font yang digunakan untuk menjelaskan materi. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini berfokus pada karakteristik font yang digunakan dalam video pembelajaran. Terdapat 3 karakteristik yang diuji yaitu: 1) tipe 2) ukuran 3) warna font. Pengujian dilakukan berdasarkan 4 parameter yang terdiri dari fixation duration, visit count, time to first fixation, dan heatmap. Berdasarkan 4 parameter pengujian, didapatkan 1 buah video alternatif yang memiliki usabilitas paling baik dibandingkan dengan usabilitas video inisial dan video alternatif lain. Video tersebut memiliki karakteristik tipe font arial, warna dark red, dan ukuran standar. ====================================================================================================================================
Ruang Guru is one of the institutions as the initiator for introducing e-learning in Indonesia. The development of information technology and computers in Indonesia has led to an increase in the interest of competitors to enter the Indonesian market. Therefore, Ruang Guru, it is an authentic Indonesian company and also an initiator in this field, must improve its competitiveness. One of the products sold by Ruang Guru is e-learning videos. E-learning video is the most important product by most of business in the field of e-learning. Therefore, the increasing usability of e-learning video in the Ruang Guru can provide an increase in competitiveness with competitors. One way to increase the usability of video display is to analyzed using an an eye-tracking device. This device can record the movements of the pupils of the respondent's eyes thereby the areas that the respondents see in the video can be known. The results of the recording can be used to evaluate the design of the existing video display. Based on Ruang Guru initial video, the main elements in the video are generally the fonts used to explain the courses. Therefore this study focuses on the characteristics of the fonts used in the learning video. There are 3 characteristics that are issued: type, size, and font color. Tests are carried out based on 4 parameters consisting of fixation duration, visits count, time of first fixation, and heat map. Based on the 4 test parameters, discovered 1 alternative video that has the best usability compared to the usability of initial and other alternatives videos. The video has the characteristics of arial fonts, dark red colors, and standard sizes.
