Abstract

The invention of electric motorcycle triggers the development of charging station for the vehicle to get its source. The charging duration for the vehicle takes approximately 1 until 3 hours. It becomes the problem when people compare the charging duration with refueling their old vehicle. A new platform is developed, it is called Battery Swapping Station (BSS). In the BSS, users can directly swap their depleted batteries with the new one in minutes. The availability of batteries in the BSS will be supported by Center Charging Station (CCS). The delivery of battery from CCS to BSS will be done by a truck. This truck will route to every BSS, taking depleted batteries and supplying full batteries. Discrete event simulation is used in order to simulate the inventory management in the BSS. Service level is used as the performance measurement for the system. Some scenarios are applied in order to check the robustness of the system. Those scenarios are applied in two types of route, fixed route and new route. The applied scenarios consist of demand rate differentiation, faster charging time, fix truck delivery, and the changing in inventory policy. Based on the simulation result, it is known that the changing in the inventory policy has significant impact in increasing the service level for both routes. The fixed route is known to be the better route in term of service level and transportation cost than the new route.
