Abstract
Kawasan Pabelan merupakan kawasan yang terletak di sebelah barat Kota Surakarta di mana banyak tersedia fasilitas umum seperti rumah sakit, universitas, supermarket, dan sekolah. Kawasan ini juga dekat dengan jalur provinsi yakni jalan Slamet Riyadi. Oleh karena itu, banyak yang bertempat tinggal di kawasan tersebut baik dari dalam kota maupun luar kota, untuk tempat tinggal permanen maupun sementara. Lokasi tapak berada di daerah perumahan yang dekat dengan banyak institusi pendidikan dari jenjang sekolah menengah sampai universitas. Para pelajar yang berasal dari luar kota pasti membutuhkan tempat tinggal selama menempuh pendidikan. Tempat tinggal yang sesuai untuk kondisi di lokasi tersebut adalah kos-kosan yang dapat memfasilitasi para pelajar maupun pekerja yang berasal dari luar kota. Konsep yang diterapkan pada kos-kosan ini adalah tempat tinggal yang sehat secara social dan lingkungan yang mengedepankan kenyamanan penghuni. Pemilik lahan yang berlokasi di Jalan Baruk Utara I, Rungkut, Surabaya ini memiliki keinginan untuk membuat kafe. Lokasi lahan persis berada di sebelah rumah pemilik. Area di kawasan tersebut cenderung ramai karena dekat dengan jalan utama Ir. Soekarno Hatta namun tetap relatif sepi karena terletak di area perumahan. Konsep dari café ini adalah café yang modern dan natural. Mengedepankan kesan modern yang tegas, tetapi nyaman dalam membangun suasana. Café ini juga dijadikan studio perancangan yang saling bermutualisme dengan fungsi café itu sendiri. Pemanfaatan material baru seperti weaving juga diterapkan di café ini untuk memberi diferensiasi dengan café lain yang ada di Surabaya

Pabelan area is an area located in the west of Surakarta City where there are many public facilities such as hospitals, universities, supermarkets, and schools. This area is also close to the provincial route, namely Slamet Riyadi road. Therefore, many people reside in the area both from within the city and outside the city, for permanent and temporary residence. The location of the site is in a residential area close to many educational institutions from secondary to university levels. Students from outside the city definitely need a place to stay while studying. The appropriate place for living in the location is a boarding house that can facilitate students and workers from outside the city. The concept that is applied to these boarding houses is a place that is socially and environmentally healthy, which puts comfort in residents The landowner, located on Jalan Baruk Utara I, Rungkut, Surabaya, has the desire to make a cafe. Location of the land is right next to the owner's house. Areas in the area tend to be crowded because it is close to the main road Ir. Soekarno Hatta but still relatively quiet because it is located in a residential area The concept of this café is a modern and natural café. Putting forward a modern impression that is firm, but comfortable in building the atmosphere. This café is also used as a design studio that is mutually religious with the function of the café itself. The use of new materials such as weaving is also applied in this café to differentiate with other cafés in Surabaya
