Abstract
Bagian selatan Jawa Timur, Indonesia, adalah daerah yang relatif dekat zona subduksi dan dilewati oleh serangkaian gunung berapi aktif. Adanya zona subduksi memicu aktivitas tektonik yang dapat menyebabkan munculnya struktur sesar. Berdasarkan data yang dikeluarkan oleh Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi dan Geofisika (BMKG) selama 10 tahun terakhir menunjukkan intensitas tinggi gempa bumi di Jawa Timur, khususnya di wilayah Pacitan, Lumajang, dan Jember. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan geometri dan posisi patahan di sepanjang selatan Jawa Timur berdasarkan distribusi nilai resistivitas bawah permukaan sebagai hasil dari metode magnetotelurik. Metode magnetotelurik mengukur medan listrik dan fluktuasi magnet alami pada permukaan dalam domain waktu. Data akuisisi terdiri dari 9 titik pengukuran magnetotellurik menggunakan instrumen Metronix. Inversi 2 dimensi dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode inversi NLCG. Hasil inversi kemudian peta anomali regional dari wilayah studi sebagai data pendukung. Peta overlay antara model resistivitas dua dimensi dan gravitasi regional menunjukkan 3 (tiga) zona resistivitas rendah di wilayah Pacitan dan Jember yang diindikasikan sebagai patahan aktif dengan tren yang relatif utara-selatan dan timur-barat laut.

The southern of Jawa Timur, Indonesia, is an area which relatively near the subduction zone and passed by a series of active volcanoes. The existence of subduction zone triggered tectonic activities which can cause the appearance of fault structure. Based on data released by Meteorological, Climatological and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) during the last 10 years showed the high intensity of earthquakes in Jawa Timur, particularly in Pacitan, Lumajang, and Jember regions. This study aim to determine geometry and position of the fault along the southern of Jawa Timur based on the distribution of subsurface resistivity value as a result of the magnetotelluric method. Magnetotelluric method measured natural electric and magnetic field on the surface. The acquisition data were consist of 9 magnetotelluric measurement points using Metronix instrument. 2-dimensional inversion is done using the NLCG inversion method. The inversion results are then correlated with gravity regional anomaly maps of the study area as supporting data. The overlay map between two-dimensional resistivity model, gravity regional, and geological map of research area showed 3 (three) low resistivity zones over Pacitan and Jember area that indicated as an active fault with the trend relatively north-south and southeast-northwest.
