Abstract
Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs) merupakan perkembangan dari Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) dimana node memiliki karakteristik dengan mobilitas yang sangat tinggi dan terbatas pada pola pergerakannya. Ada banyak routing protocol yang dapat diimplementasikan pada VANETs salah satunya Ad hoc On demand Distance Vector (AODV). AODV merupakan salah satu routing protocol yang termasuk dalam klasifikasi reactive routing protocol. Sebuah protokol yang hanya akan membuat rute ketika node sumber membutuhkannya. Efisiensi energi atau sumber daya adalah masalah penting yang harus diperhatikan pada jaringan ad-hoc. Hal ini disebabkan oleh fakta bahwa kegagalan node atau link memungkinkan terjadinya re-routing dan pembangunan jalur baru dari sumber ke tujuan yang menciptakan konsumsi energi ekstra dari node. Pada tugas akhir ini modifikasi akan dilakukan pada proses pemilihan rute Route Reply (RREP), dengan menjadikan Energy Difference (D) sebagai acuan. Energy Difference (D) didapat dari penghitungan nilai Minimum Residual Energy (MRE) dan Sum of Residual Energy (SRE) setiap node sumber mengirimkan Route Request (RREQ). Hal ini diharapkan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi energi dalam pemilihan rute agar tidak adanya broken link yang disebabkan oleh habisnya energi suatu node dalam sebuah rute dan memperpanjang network lifetime. Dari hasil uji coba, AODV yang dimodifikasi pada skenario grid berhasil meningkatkan nilai Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) hingga 6.61% dan penurunan nilai Routing Overhead (RO) hingga 8.40% sedangkan pada skenario real berhasil meningkatkan nilai Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) hingga 8,84% dan penurunan nilai Routing Overhead (RO) hingga 38.51%.

Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs) are developments from Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) where nodes have characteristics with very high mobility and are limited to their movement patterns. There are many routing protocols that can be implemented on VANETs, one of which is Ad hoc On demand Distance Vector (AODV). AODV is one of the routing protocols that are included in the reactive routing protocol classification. A protocol that will only create a route when the source node needs it. Energy or resource efficiency is an important problem that must be considered in ad-hoc networks. This is due to the fact that node or link failures allow re-routing and construction of new paths from source to destination which creates extra energy consumption from the node. In this final assignment, modifications will be made in the process of selecting Route Reply (RREP), by making Energy Difference (D) as a reference. Energy Difference (D) is obtained from calculating the Minimum Residual Energy (MRE) and Sum of Residual Energy (SRE) values for each source node sending Route Request (RREQ). This is expected to improve energy efficiency in route selection so that there is no broken link caused by the exhaustion of a node's energy in a route and extending the network lifetime. From the results of the trial, AODV modified in the grid scenario succeeded in increasing the value of the Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) to 6.61% and decreasing the Overhead Routing value (RO) to 8.40% while in the real scenario the value of the Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) was increased 8.84% and a decrease in the Overhead Routing (RO) value of up to 38.51%.
