Abstract
At-Tauhid Tower Universitas Muhammadiyah Surabaya merupakan bangunan yang terletak di Kota Surabaya, terdiri dari 13 lantai dan merupakan bangunan dengan fungsi sebagai tempat perkuliahan. Berdasarkan nilai SPT pada lokasi bangunan, gedung perkuliahan yang termasuk ke dalam kategori resiko IV ini dibangun di atas tanah lunak (SE) dan masuk ke dalam Kategori Desain Seismik (KDS) D. Sebagai salah satu bangunan dengan fungsi penting dan dengan lokasi bangunan dengan resiko gempa, dilakukan perencanaan desain alternatif pada gedung At-Tauhid Tower Universitas Muhammadiyah Surabaya agar bangunan tetap berfungsi sebagaimana mestinya dan kerusakan dapat diminimalisir apabila gempa terjadi.
Digunakan sistem rangka pemikul momen biasa, dan bangunan direncanakan menggunakan Fluid Viscous Damper (FVD). Tujuan dari penggunaan FVD adalah untuk mendisipasi energi gempa dan meminimalisir kerusakan sruktur yang terjadi akibat gempa. FVD cocok digunakan pada bangunan yang berlokasi di atas tanah lunak.
Digunakan Fluid Viscous Damper FVD-H-500-150 ITT series dengan gaya redam sebesar 500kN. Fluid Viscous Damper pada bangunan dipasang secara diagonal pada frame bangunan yang disebut monoclinic support. Hasil perhitungan berupa penulangan beton struktur atas, struktur bawah, serta perhitungan sambungan Fluid Viscous Damper, yang dituangkan dalam bentuk gambar teknik menggunakan program bantu AutoCAD.

At-Tauhid Muhammadiyah University Surabaya Tower located in Surabaya, is a 13 story building and its purpose is for education activity. Based on SPT results where the building located, this building is categorized in risk category IV that is built above soft soil and also categorized as Seismic Design D. As one of the building with an important purpose and located in area that has a high risk of earthquake, alternative design of At-Tauhid Muhammadiyah University Tower is needed so that the building can mantain the purpose of the building and damages can be minimized if an earthquake occur.
Ordinary moment resisting frame is used, and the building is designed using Fluid Viscous Damper (FVD). The purpose of using FVD is for dissipate the earthquake energy and minimized the structure damage caused by earthquake. FVD is suitable for a building that is located above soft soil. As the addition of FVD, structure is adjusted to the requirement.
Fluid Viscous Damper FVD-H-500-150 ITT series is used with a damping force 500 kN. Fluid Viscous Dampers on building are installed diagonally on the frame of the building, this installation called monoclinic support. The results of the calculation are reinforcement of upper concrete structure, low part concrete structure, and the connection of Fluid Viscous Damper, and turn it into drawing using AutoCAD.
