Abstract

Berdasarkan Badan Pusat Statistik (2016), pada tahun 2012 hingga tahun 2016 cenderung mengalami peningkatan ekspor dan impor produk bioetanol. Dari data tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kebutuhan bioetanol di dunia naik secara kontinyu. Bioetanol merupakan bahan bakar dari tumbuhan yang memiliki sifat menyerupai minyak premium. Bioetanol adalah etanol yang dihasilkan dari fermentasi glukosa (gula) yang dilanjutkan dengan proses distilasi. Bioetanol dapat digunakan sebagai bahan baku industri turunan alkohol, campuran untuk miras, bahan dasar industri farmasi, campuran bahan bakar untuk kendaraan. Proses produksi dibagi dalam empat tahap. Tahap pretreatment, memecah ikatan lignoselulosa pada blotong. Selanjutnya, tahap hidrolisa dimana polimer – polimer terhidrolisa menjadi monomer, kemudian tahap fermentasi dimana monomer diubah menjadi etanol dengan menggnakan mikroorganisme, dan pada tahap terakhir yaitu tahap purifikasi dimana etanol yang telah difermentasikan mengalami pemurnian lagi melalui proses destilasi dan dehidrasi. Pabrik ini direncanakan berkapasitas 33.000 ton/tahun, beroperasi secara kontinyu selama 330 hari/tahun dengan basis 24 jam/hari. Blotong yang diperlukan sebesar 809.058,3 kg/hari.

2016 it tended to experience an increase in exports and imports of bioethanol products. From these data, it can be concluded that the need for bioethanol in the world continues to rise. Bioethanol is a fuel from plants that has properties resembling premium oil. Bioethanol is ethanol produced from the fermentation of glucose (sugar) which is continued by the distillation process. Bioethanol can be used as raw material for alcohol derivatives, mixtures for alcohol, basic ingredients in the pharmaceutical industry, fuel mixtures for vehicles. The production process is divided into four stages. The pretreatment stage breaks down the lignocellulose bond in the blotong. Furthermore, the hydrolysis stage where the hydrolyzed polymers become monomers, then the fermentation stage in which the monomers are converted into ethanol by using microorganisms, and in the last stage is the purification stage where fermented ethanol undergoes refining through a process of distillation and dehydration. The plant is planned to have a capacity of 33,000 tons / year, operating continuously for 330 days / year on a 24-hour / day basis. Blotong required is 809,058.3 kg / day.
