Abstract
Sensitisasi adalah pengendapan karbida selama perlakuan panas pada baja tahan karat atau lebih khususnya pada Austenitic Stainless Steel. Ini merupakan fenomena yang terkenal dan terdiri dari presipitasi karbida pada batas butir dan pengurangan krom di daerah yang berdekatan dengan batas butir. Dalam penelitian ini material yang digunakan adalah baja tahan karat AISI 304 dengan komposisi krom 18% dilaku panas setimbang dengan pendinginan udara dengan variasi waktu penahanan (30 menit, 60 menit, 90 menit, 120 menit dan 150 menit). Penelitian ini meliputi pengujian struktur mikro, pengujian weight loss dan pengujian kekerasan. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan presentase presipitat dan yang paling banyak terjadi pada benda uji dengan waktu penahanan 150 menit. Setelah di uji pengurangan berat dengan larutan HCl 1M benda uji dengan waktu penahanan 150 menit memiliki laju korosi paling tinggi dan benda uji tanpa dilaku panas memiliki laju korosi paling rendah. Untuk nilai kekerasan pada benda uji yang di laku panas tidak jauh perbedaannya. Namun bila disbanding dengan benda uji yang tidak di laku panas, nilai kekerasannya turun. Hingga paling rendah pada benda uji dengan waktu pwnahanan 150 menit, yaitu 61,333 HRB.

Sensitization is the deposition of carbides during heat treatment in stainless steel or more specifically in Austenitic Stainless Steel. This is a well-known phenomenon and consists of precipitation of carbides at grain boundaries and chrome in areas equipped with grain boundaries. The research material used was AISI 304 stainless steel with 18% chrome composition in equilibrium heat with air combination with variations in holding time (30 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes, 120 minutes and 150 minutes). This study discusses microstructure testing, weight loss testing, and experimental testing. The test results showed an increase in the percentage of precipitates and the most occurred in the specimen with a holding time of 150 minutes. After a heavy trial with 1M HCl solution, the specimen with a 150 minute holding time has a higher speed and the test object without heat treatment has the lowest corrosion speed. For the critical value of the test object which is hot, the difference is not far. However, when compared to the test object which is not sold hot, the hardness value decreases. Up to the lowest on the test object with a holding time of 150 minutes, which is 61,333 HRB.
