Abstract

Fabric waste is a high amount of textile waste. The owner of PT Superbtex said that the amount of fabric waste reached 200 tons per day and sent to Bandung. The large amount is only part of the waste that is saved, besides that it is wasted in TPA, TPU, rivers and ends in burning. This action eventually makes the waste cloth produce other waste. This was caused by a lack of knowledge of the community about the impact and methods of handling waste cloth and the lack of fabric waste processing facilities. If the cloth waste is reused continuously, it will not pollute the environment. In this context architecture acts as a driver for the community to be aware of the waste of cloth. The approach used by Zero Waste approach and applied the lifecycle concept as a place to educate cloth waste treatment. Design criteria are obtained through ecological permutation and architectural branding. The use of ecology to obtain fabric waste treatment criteria that are appropriate to the environment, as well as architectural branding methods to obtain criteria where the designed architecture can communicate well. The method used is a combination metaphor method to achieve existing criteria. So that the architectural design is expected to function as a driver of the community in processing waste cloth through this fabric waste treatment education facility.
