Abstract

The most important in designing a ship is
determining the value of resistance when talking about the
hydrodynamic performance of the ship. The International
Towing tank Conference (ITTC) procedure is recommended for
resistance tests. Uncertainty analysis should be in terms of the
reliability of the test results. Total uncertainty for single run of
the total resistance coefficient (CT), and the residual resistance
coefficient (CR) of 17,500 DWT Tanker model scale of 1:25 with
the dimension of L = 5.980 m, B = 1.108 m and T = 0.280 m at
Froude number 0.107-0.188 corresponding velocity of 0.82-1.44
m/s conducted at Indonesian Hydrodynamics Laboratory (LHI)-
BPPT. The continuous improvement of laboratory performance
and consistency of quality testing services is need by the national
shipbuilding industry and impact on the competitiveness of
national products in regional and global markets.
