Abstract

The geopolymer compressive strength added with Nitrate salts depends on the synthesis process. The process of mixing materials in the manufacture of geopolymers is very important to produce geopolymers with high compressive strength. Fly ash as the main ingredient in making geopolymers becomes very reactive when mixed with activators. The dried fly ash plus the Nitrate salt solution and Al(OH)3 solution are then mixed and stirred with the activator solution for 2.5 minutes and printed in a cylindrical mold with 2cm fingers and 4cm height. The compressive strength test is carried out after 7 days of drying. The compressive strength test showed that the addition of Pb2+ metal cations to geopolymers produced the highest compressive strength, while the lowest compressive strength in geopolymers supplemented with Sr2+ metal cations.
