Abstract

Trimaran ship is a ship that has three interconnected hulls. The Trimaran ship also has various operational conditions, named loading and unloading (cargo handling), anchoring, maneuvering, and sailing with diverse electricity needs. In this research, we will analysis the condition of manuevering because these conditions require a large amount of power. Various types of ship operating conditions can cause electrical system disruptions. Therefore the quality of the electricity voltage and the prevention of the short circuits become one of the important factors in a ship's electrical system. The poor quality of the voltage produced can result in a decrease in the reliability of the power system and can reduce the lifetime of the electrical equipment. Drop voltage that occurs in electrical loads on ships is often ignored by ABK and rarely gets special attention. To overcome the short circuit, a short circuit current analysis is needed on the Trimaran ship's electrical system. In this study there will be several differences in generator loading to determine the drop voltage and short circuit that occur on trimaran ship. The results of calculation with load flow analysis show that the drop voltage for each load variation has a drop voltage passing the IEC standard (+/- 5%) with an average of above 6%. Effort for fixxed it by installing capacitors to the load, with 50μF for each. From the results of the short circuit analysis, it was found that each load short circuit occured with an average value of 919 ampere.
