Abstract

Atrazin adalah salah satu herbisida dalam kelompok triazin yang digunakan secara selektif untuk mengendalikan kemunculan gulma berdaun lebar dan berumput di jagung, nanas, sorgum, kapas, dan tanaman lainnya namun bersifat toksik, berpotensi akumulatif dan tetap berada di lingkungan selama bertahun-tahun. Biodegradasi merupakan suatu proses mentransformasikan bahan pencemar yang umumnya memiliki molekul lebih besar (kompleks) menjadi bentuk sederhana. Nutrisi sebagai salah satu faktor yang berpengaruh besar dalam sintesis materi seluler dan petumbuhan sel. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh sumber nutrisi dan lama waktu terhadap degradasi atrazin serta viabilitas sel. Penelitian dilakukan dengan cara pengukuran persentase degradasi atrazin dan perhitungan viabilitas sel dengan metode Total Plate Count (TPC). Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah penambahan sumber karbon dan nitrogen serta lama waktu tidak berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan persentase degradasi atrazin tetapi berpengaruh terhadap viabilitas sel. Persentase degradasi atrazin yang memiliki perbedaan signifikan terbesar ditunjukkan pada perlakuan K0 (kontrol) hari ke 8 dengan besar presentasi mencapai 62,18 %, . Pada viabilitas sel perlakuan K4 (penambahan urea) pada hari ke-0, ke-2 dan ke-6 memiliki perbedaan signifikan terbesar dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lain. ================================================================================================================================
Atrazine is one of the herbicides in the triazine group which is used selectively to control the emergence of broadleaf and grassy weeds in corn, pineapple, sorghum, cotton, and other plants but is toxic, potentially accumulative and has remained in the environment for many years. Biodegradation is a process of transforming pollutants which generally have larger (complex) molecules into simple forms. Nutrition as one of the factors that have a big influence in the synthesis of cellular matter and cell growth. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of nutrient sources and incubation time on atrazine degradation and cell viability. The study was conducted by measuring the percentage of atrazine degradation and calculation of cell viability using the Total Plate Count (TPC) method. The results of this study show that the addition of carbon and nitrogen sources and incubation time did not affect the increase in the percentage of atrazine degradation but had an effect on cell viability. The percentage of atrazine degradation has a greater significance was shown in treatment of K0 (control) on day 8 with a value of 62.18%. While cell viability, treatment of K4 (addition of urea) on day 0,day 2 and day 6 has a greater significance than other treatments.
