Abstract
Material berbasis karbon, khususnya lapisan karbon amorf telah diteliti secara intensif untuk digunakan sebagai piranti solar cell. Lapisan karbon amorf dari nira, legen dan gula siwalan disintesis dengan proses karbonisasi sampel yang sebelumnya telah dipanaskan dan diaduk sampai membentuk karamel pada suhu 250° C selama 2 jam. Kemudian sampel tersebut dipanaskan lebih lanjut pada suhu 400 °C dan 600 °C selama 2 jam. Sampel yang telah dipanaskan ditumbuk dan dicuci menggunakan aquades kemudian dikeringkan. Setiap sampel dilarutkan ke dalam larutan, variasi larutan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah aquades dan DMSO. Proses eksfoliasi dilakukan menggunakan ultrasonic cleaner selama 2 jam dan disentrifugasi dengan kecepatan 4000 rpm selama 30 menit. Lapisan karbon amorf dideposisi dengan metode spin coating di atas substrat ITO dengan kecepatan 2000 rpm selama 50 detik. Hasil uji FTIR menunjukkan adanya ikatan =C-H, C-O, C-H, O-H, C=C sp2, dan C=C sp pada sampel dengan pelarut aquades. Sedangkan pada sampel dengan pelarut DMSO terbentuk ikatan gugus fungsi =C-H, C-O, C=C sp2, C=C sp, O-H, S-H, SO2, S-O dan C-H sp3. Struktur morfologi lapisan karbon amorf berbentuk bongkahan dan nodular. Nilai konduktivitas lapisan karbon amorf berada sekitar 0.04 S/m- 0.09 S/m. Nilai energi gap yang dihasilkan masuk dalam rentang bahan semikonduktor yaitu 0.35 eV – 1.01 eV. Sifat optik dari karbon amorf yang dihasilkan dari nira, legen dan gula siwalan memiliki daya serap pada panjang gelombang cahaya ultraviolet.

Carbon-based materials, especially amorphous carbon thin films have been intensively studied to be used as solar cell devices. The amorphous carbon thin films from sap, legen and brown sugar of palmyra is synthesized by the carbonization process of samples that have previously been heated and distilled to form caramel at temperature of 250 ° C for 2 hours. Then the sample is heated further at 400 ° C and 600 ° C for 2 hours. The sample washed using distilled water and then dried. Each sample was dissolved in aquades and DMSO. The exfoliation process was carried out using an ultrasonic cleaner for 2 hours and centrifuged at 4000 rpm for 30 minutes. The amorphous carbon thin film was deposited using the spin coating method on the ITO substrate at a speed of 2000 rpm for 50 seconds. The FTIR test results showed the existence of bonds =C-H, C-O, C-H, O-H, C=C sp2, and C=C sp in samples with aquadest. Whereas in the sample with DMSO a functional group bond is formed =C-H, C-O, C=C sp2,C=C sp O-H, S-H, SO2, S-O and C-H sp3. The morphological structure of amorphous carbon thin films is shaped like lumps and nodules. The conductivity value of the amorphous carbon thin films is around 0.04 S/m-0.09 S/m. The resulting gap energy value is in the range of semiconductor materials, which is 0.35 eV - 1.01 eV. The optical absorption of amorphous carbon produced from the sap, legen dan brown sugar of palmyra has been at wavelengths of ultraviolet light.
