Abstract
Berbagai penelitian terkait stabilitas pipa telah banyak dilakukan di berbagai lokasi. Namun, sebaliknya dengan perhitungan stabilitas kabel laut yang masih sedikit dibahas. Dalam penelitian ini perhitungan stabilitas dilakukan di daerah Pangkalan Susu, Medan. Analisis stabilitas diperlukan untuk mengetahui apakah kabel yang dipasang di daerah Pangkalan Susu – Pulau sembilan aman dan kuat dari gaya gaya yang bekerja di sekitar kabel. Kabel laut ini digunakan untuk menyalurkan listrik dari PLTU Pangkalan Susu sampai dengan Pulau Sembilan dengan panjang kabel 850 m. Analisis on-bottom stability yang dilakukan berdasarkan code DNV RP F109 mengenai “On-Bottom Stability Design of Submarine Pipeline”. Dari hasil perhitungan berat terendam minimum pipa yang dibutuhkan oleh kabel dengan diameter 288 mm serta tebal coating 4 mm didapatkan nilai sebesar 84,50319 N/m agar pipa tenggelam didasar laut dan mampu melawan gaya-gaya yang bekerja pada pipa. Dari analasis kondisi operasi yang telah dilakukan didapatkan gaya hidrodinamis horizontal sebesar 105,23 N/m dan gaya hidrodinamis Vertikal sebesar 39,0758 N/m. Berdasarkan analisis kriteria desain stabilitas vertikal adalah 0,62 dan untuk kriteria desain stabil absolute lateral stability adalah 0,66943 dan 0,107.

Numerous studies have investigated the stability of subsea pipelines in various locations; however, the stability of submarine power cables has received comparatively little attention. This study evaluates the on-bottom stability of a submarine power cable installed between the Pangkalan Susu Steam Power Plant (PLTU) and Pulau Sembilan, North Sumatra, with a total cable length of 875 m. The analysis was conducted to assess whether the cable can safely withstand the hydrodynamic forces acting on it under operational conditions. The stability assessment followed the recommendations of DNV-RP-F109, *On-Bottom Stability Design of Submarine Pipelines*. The results indicate that a minimum submerged weight of 84.503 N/m is required for the protective pipe surrounding the cable, which has a diameter of 288 mm and a wall thickness of 4 mm, to ensure that it remains stable on the seabed. The calculated horizontal and vertical hydrodynamic forces acting on the cable are 105.23 N/m and 39.08 N/m, respectively. Based on the stability evaluation, the vertical stability criterion is 0.62, while the absolute stability criteria are 0.669 and 0.107, indicating that the submarine cable satisfies the required on-bottom stability criteria under the analyzed environmental conditions.
