Abstract

Coffee is a plant that has a high value (selling point) due to the many requests from producers. The coffee beans are processed into beverage, with the distinctive taste of the coffee itself, which is bitter, which makes coffee popular with the community. The potential for coffee cultivation in Indonesia must be developed so that the productivity of the coffee product itself can increase the economy of the Indonesian. To increase the productivity of the coffee plantation, an analysis of coffee area suitability is needed so that the results obtained are more maximal. With the existence of sophisticated technology, utilizing High Resolution Images and Geographic Information Systems, this suitability analysis of coffee area can be more effective and efficient. Using overlaying four parameters, such as elevation, slope, soil type and rainfall, a coffee area suitability map will be produced. The method used in this study is a scoring method for each parameter. Weighting was done to give a percentage of the level of effec) of parameters on the results of land suitability for coffee. In this study there were four classes of conformity, namely N (inappropriate), S1 (according to marginal), S2 (accordingly), S3 (Very suitable), which was used as a reference for the potential use of coffee cultivation is class S3 (very appropriate). The S3 class (very suitable) is the largest percentage, namely in the Donowarsih village, which is 15.20%. Followed by Bocek village by 12.58%, then Tawangargo village by 12.11%, and Ngenep village by 10.10%.
