Abstract
VOC (Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie) adalah serikat dagang belanda, yang memiliki peran besar dalam sejarah Indonesia di zaman pendudukan Hindia Belanda. Masa kolonialisasi Belanda memberikan berbagai macam aspek yang dapat dipelajari bagi masyarakat Indonesia masa kini. Sayangnya di masa globalisasi sekarang ini, minat masyarakat akan pengetahuan sejarah sangat rendah, khususnya Remaja. Perancangan Animasi mengenai sejarah VOC di Indonesia ini bertujuan untuk menciptakan media visual yang mampu memberikan edukasi guna menyampaikan materi sejarah yang disajikan menggunakan gaya digital cut-out animation. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam perancangan ini adalah Studi kompetitor dan komparator, studi literatur mengenai cerita sejarah VOC, observasi untuk penentuan visual, Kuesioner dan depth interview dengan pakar sejarah mengenai runtutan sejarah VOC di Indonesia yang koheren dan mendapat berbagai pengetahuan penting dalam sejarah VOC serta melalui prototyping. Hasil dari metode ini akan diramu menjadi konsep visual dan naskah yang akan menjadi konsep animasi yang dibuat. Luaran yang dihasilkan dari perancangan ini adalah menciptakan animasi sejarah VOC di Indonesia yang berisik sejarah, latar belakang, tujuan serta fakta –fakta dari sejarah yang ada, konsep animasi disajikan melalui sudut pandang dari VOC, memberikan sisi lain dari sejarah konvensional. Serta video dikemas secara singkat menggunakan narasi berbahasa Indonesia. Dengan gaya digital cut-out, Animasi 2D sejarah VOC ini dapat memberikan kesan kuno yang cocok dengan topik sejarah. The VOC (Vereenigde Oost-indische Compagnie) is a Dutch trading company, which had major role in the history of Indonesia during the occupation of the Dutch East Indies. The Dutch colonization period gave Indonesia various aspects that could be learned today. Unfortunately, as the globalization arises, people’s interest in history is very low, especially younger generation. This research of designing 2D Animated motion graphic documentary of VOC history in Indonesia aims to create a visual media which able to provide historical insights through digital cut-out animation style. The method used in this research includescompetitor and comparator studies, literature study of VOC history, Observation for visual definition, Quetionaires to target and depth interview to historian for chronological coherent history and get any valuable knowledge on history of VOC in Indonesia and also through prototyping methods. Data from the methods are being processed to be a visual concept and scripts of the animation. The output is a 2D motion graphic animation of VOC history in Indonesia which contains histoy, the background, the goal, and various facts about VOC history.The animation concept is delivered through the perspective of VOC, giving a different side of the conventianal history.The video is wrapped in a simple way, narrated in Bahasa..By using digital cut-out animation, the 2D animation of VOC history could gives old-styled images that suits the history topic.Expository narratives alsocould gives supplementary explanation about VOC to audience.
