Abstract
Generator adalah suatu sistem yang menghasilkan tenaga listrik dengan masukan tenaga mekanik, alat ini merupakan komponen penting pada pembangkit, oleh karena itu harus adanya suatu sistem untuk melakukan proteksi. Sistem proteksi terdiri dari beberapa komponen yaitu sensor tegangan, arus dan frekuensi kemudian komponen kontrol ATMega16 dan relay 5v beserta kontaktor magnetic sebagai elemen akhirnya. Sensor akan mengirimkan sinyal sebesar 4 – 20 mA lalu akan diterjemahkan oleh ATMega16, melalui sinyal ini dapat dideteksi apakah generator dalam posisi normal ataupun abnormal. Apabila abnormal maka ATMega akan mengaktifkan relay agar kontaktor magnetic dapat memutuskan jaringan listrik menuju generator. Setelah diuji, saat sensor mengeluarkan 4 mA, 8 mA, 12 mA, dan 18 mA plant dalam kondisi normal, namun saat sensor mengirimkan sinyal sebesar 20 mA plant dalam kondisi abnormal dan terjadi trip pada plant.

Generator is a system that produces electricity with input of mechanical power, this tool is an important component in the generator, therefore there must be a system for protection. The protection system consists of several components, namely the voltage, current and frequency sensors and then ATMega16 control components and 5v relays along with magnetic contactors as the final element. The sensor will send a signal of 4-20 mA then it will be translated by ATMega16, through this signal it can be detected whether the generator is in a normal or abnormal position. If it is abnormal, ATMega will activate the relay so that the magnetic contactor can decide the electric network towards the generator. After testing, when the sensor issues 4 mA, 8 mA, 12 mA, and 18 mA plant is in normal condition, but when the sensor sends a signal of 20 mA the plant is in an abnormal condition and a trip occurs at the plant.
