Abstract

Nogogeni 5 dan nogogeni5 evo adalah mobil dengan kategori hemat energi yang di pertandingkan dalam event nasional maupun international.Agar dapat menurunkan gaya gesek yang nantinya berpengaruh terhadap kinerja motor/mesin penggerak maka tim nogogeni harus mereduksi berat mobil dengan cara mengganti material chassis mobil yang lebih ringan dan kuat.Penelitian diawali dengan proses pembuatan komposit sandwich dengan material fiberglass WR6, matriks BQTN 157 dan core lantor coremat dengan metode hand-lay up.pada pembuatanya variasi volume fraksi material adalah 24 :76, 32:68, dan 40:60 dengan poses curing ±24 jam dan dilakukan pengujian bending dengan strandart ASTM C-393.Diketahui dari data pengujian, semakin tinggi kandungan WR 6 pada material komposit sandwich semakin tinggi pula sifat mekaniknya. Sifat mekanik dengan volume fraksi 40:60 meliputi tegangan bending sebesar 325.33 MPa, momen bending 65454.073 Nmm, facing bending stress 240.409 Mpa dan core shear ultimate stress 6.784 Mpa .Pada core lantor coremat tidak mempunyai peranan untuk meningkatkan sifat mekanik material dan model kegagalan komposit sandwich serat fiberglass WR 6 dengan core lantor coremat akibat pengujian bending didominasi oleh face sheet dibonding dan shear core.

Nogogeni 5 and nogogeni5 evo are energy-efficient vehicles which follow national event or international event. To reduce the friction force that affect engine performance, nogogeni team must reduce the weight of the car by replacing the chassis materials with lighter and stronger materials. The research begins with the process of making composite sandwich with fiberglass WR6, matriks BQTN 157 and core lantor coremat by hand-lay up method. Volume fraction variation in the material manufacturing process are 24 :76, 32:68, and 40:60 by curing process ±24 hours and bending test with standart of ASTM C-393 .Known from the test data, the higher the WR6 content in the sandwich composite materials, the higher mechanical properties. Mechanical properties with 40:60 include bending stress of 325.33 MPa, moment of bending 65454.073 Nmm, facing bending stress 240.409 Mpa and core shear ultimate stress 6.784 Mpa. core lantor coremat does not have a role for incrase mechanic properties on bending stress and stiffness. Failure model of fiberglass WR6 sandwich composites with core lantor cormat due to bending testing is dominated by face sheet debonding and shear core.
