Abstract
Diving Propulsion Vehicle (DPV) adalah instrument berupa wahana selam bawah air. DPV digunakan penyelam scuba diving dan snorkeling untuk meningkatkan jangkauan penyelaman dalam hal eksplorasi objek bawah laut seperti pemotretan, operasi militer, dan penelitian beraneka ragam biota bawah laut. Tujuan dari tugas akhir ini adalah untuk mengetahui rancangan atau desain DPV (Diving Porpulsion Vehicle) dimulai dari batasan operasi, dimensi utama, dan nilai tahanan total DPV. Lalu menghitung kebutuhan daya motor sebagai gaya thrust system propulsi dengan variasi kecepatan laju 3 – 5 knot pada desain DPV. Hasil perancangan desain DPV (Diving Propulsion Vehicle) menggunakan aplikasi Solidwork 2016 didapatkan ukuran utama desain DPV p x l x t yaitu 454 x 600 x 390 mm. Kemudian dilakukan perhitungan kebutuhan daya motor sebagai system propulsi DPV dari variasi kecepatan laju 3 – 5 knot didalam air. Daya motor dipakai dengan acuan nilai brake horse power (BHP) pada kecepatan DPV maximum 5 knot dalam air sebesar 200 Watt.

Diving Propulsion Vehicle (DPV) is an instrument in the form of an underwater diving vehicle. DPV used by scuba diving and snorkeling divers to increase the range of diving in terms of exploration of underwater objects such as shooting, military operations, and research on a variety of underwater biota. The purpose of this final project is to determine the design of a DPV (Diving Propulsion Vehicle) starting from the operational limits, main dimensions, and the total resistance value of DPV. Then calculate motor power requirements as a propulsion thrust system with a rate velocity variation of 3 – 5 knots in the DPV design. The results of the design of the DPV (Diving Propulsion Vehicle) design using the Solidwok 2016 application obtained the main size of the DPV design p x l x t that is 454 x 600 x 390 mm. Then the calculation of motor power requirements as a DPV propulsion system is calculated from the rate velocity variations of 3 – 5 knots in water. Motor power is used by reference to the value of brake horse power (BHP) at a maximum DPV speed of 5 knots in water of 200 Watts.
