Abstract

Bakteri N1, N6, dan P9 dari rhizosfer tanaman tebu diketahui berpotensi melarutkan fosfat, kalium, menambat nitrogen, dan menghasilkan hormon IAA, serta mampu hidup secara sinergis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian lanjutan untuk mengetahui pengaruh bakteri pada tanaman jagung manis (Zea mays saccharata Sturt) dari usia semai hingga usia produktif dan mengetahui viabilitasnya dalam medium yang mengandung 1% molase selama 15 hari. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap dengan 5 kali ulangan. Sebanyak 100 ml campuran yang mengandung 10% konsorsium bakteri dan 0,2 % molase diaplikasikan pada tanaman jagung manis usia 20 HST setiap 3 hari sekali selama 18 hari, dan 5 hari sekali selama 25 hari pada pukul 16.00. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan perlakuan konsorsium bakteri tidak berpengaruh terhadap mikroba indigenous tanah tanam atau bersifat netral berdasarkan parameter pertumbuhan, perkembangan, dan produktivitas tanaman jagung manis. Perlakuan P3 yang terdiri dari isolat N1, N6, dan P9 berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap diameter batang yang mencapai 17,43 mm dan indeks luas daun yang mencapai 459,15 cm, namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman (131 cm), jumlah daun (6-8 helai), berat kering tanaman (94 gram). Pada perlakuan P3, tongkol yang terbentuk rerata panjangnya mencapai 26,17 cm dan beratnya 87,82 gram. Tongkol tersebut mengandung biji jagung manis penuh dan tersusun rapat. Selanjutnya, viabilitas 50% konsorsium bakteri pada medium yang mengandung 1% molasse mampu tumbuh secara konstan, mencapai 10^8 – 10^9 CFU/ml, selama 15 hari masa simpan.

The NI, N6, and P9 bacteria from rhizosphere of sugarcane had been proved that they had ability to solubilize phosphate and pottasium, as well to fix nitrogen and produce IAA hormones. Those were synergistically living together in an enrichment medium. This study was aimed to determine the effect of those bacteria on sweet corn plant and those viability in molasses carrier medium for 15 days. This study used complete randomized design with 5 replications. About 100 ml suspension, consist of 10 % bacteria and 0,2% molasses was applied into a 20 days sweet corn plant. Application was every 3 days for 18 days and continued by every 5 days for 25 days. After 74 days, the plants were harvested. The observed parameters were plant height, stem diameter, leaf number, leaf area index, length and weight cub, number of seeds, 100 seeds weight, and dry weight of plant. The viability of the bacterial consortium in molasses medium was detected using the Total Plate Count method every 5 days for 15 days incubation.The results showed that bacterial concortia gave no significant effect on the indigenous bacteria or neutralism based on growth, development, and productivity of sweet corn plant. P3 consist of N1, N6, and P9 isolates gave significant effect on the stem diameter (17,43 mm) and leaf area index (459,15 cm). However, that bacteria gave no significant effect on the plant height (131 cm), leaf number (6-8 leaves), and dry weight (87,82 gram). P3 gave cobs 26,17 cm and those weight was 87,82 gram. The viability of bacterial concortia in 1% molasses medium grow in constant for 15 days that reached 10^8 -10^9 CFU/ml.
