Abstract

=================================================================================================================================
Vibrastic Dodecahedron (V-Dec) is a loudspeaker that can be used on room acoustic measurement. On the previous final project, there had been produced V-Dec with three dimension variations, there are V-Dec first generation with 15 cm enclosure, V-Dec second generation with 13 cm enclosure and V-Dec third generation with 9 cm enclosure. In this final project, an analysis of directivity, frequency response and sound pressure level is carried out to know about changes in performance due to dimensional change. V-Dec’s directivity is measured using value of omnidirectional cut-off frequency, that can show limit of frequency which has omnidirectional directivity. First generation of V-Dec has omnidirectional cut-off frequency with interval 500 Hz – 630 Hz, second generation of V-Dec has omnidirectional cut-off frequency with interval 630 Hz – 800 Hz and third generation of V-Dec has omnidirectional cut-off frequency with interval 800 Hz – 1000 Hz. V-Dec’s frequency response is getting worse with smaller dimension. V-Dec’s sound pressure level is getting lower with smaller dimension. Cone speaker will has higher displacement when V-Dec is producing sound with low frequency. This condition makes value of V-Dec’s sound pressure level decrease. This problem can be fixed with two method there are adding radius of the driver speaker or changing the driver speaker with small stifness.
