Abstract

Salah satu kunci utama agar sebuah industri baik di bidang produk maupun jasa adalah kualitas. Proses produksi memegang peranan penting untuk mencapai kualitas yang baik dan sesuai spesifikasi yang telah ditetapkan oleh pelanggan. PT. Indal Steel Pipe yang bergerak di bidang pelapisan pipa baja juga sangat memperhatikan kualitasnya. Di PT. ISP karakteristik kualitas yang sangat vital untuk dijaga kualitasnya yaitu tebal lapisan pipa. Selama ini tebal lapisan pipa dikontrol melalui batas spesifikasi dan pengecekan secara visual saja. Pengecekan dilakukan dengan mengukur tebal lapisan di beberapa titik pada pipa dan didapatkan hasil yang berbeda-beda setiap titiknya. Adanya level ketidakpastian dalam pengecekan setiap titik dari tebal lapisan pipa menyebabkan hasil yang kurang tepat apabila digunakan diagram kontrol biasa. Logika fuzzy mampu mengatasi hal tersebut yaitu mentolerir data-data yang tidak tepat atau samar namun hasil tetap sesuai. Dalam penelitian ini akan dilakukan penerapan diagram kontrol fuzzy u untuk pengendalian kualitas tebal lapisan pipa di PT. ISP. Didapatkan bahwa diagram kontrol fuzzy u lebih halus dalam mengendalikan kualitas dibandingkan diagram kontrol demerit yang mengikuti aturan shewart. Terdapat 6 pengamatan terindikasi “mendekati in control” sehingga dapat menjadi peringatan lebih dini bagi perusahaan dalam memperbaiki kualitasnya. Nilai α atau tingkat ketelitian perusahaan yang digunakan sebesar 0,6.

One of the most important key in product or service industry in quality. Production process plays an important role to achieve the good quality and according to specifications that have been established by customer. PT. Indal Steel Pipe which is product in coating steel pipe must notice the quality of it’s product. At ISP company the most important quality characteristic must be controlled is the coating thickness. All this time the coating thickness is controlled by using the specification limit and visual checked by quality control department. Checking was done by measurecoating thickness on some points on pipe and got the different result from each points. There were uncertainty level on this checking and will get unvalid result if used conventional control chart. Fuzzy logic could handle uncertainty data and still give valid result . In this experiment will be used fuzzy u control chart for coating thickness quality control in ISP company. And the result is fuzzy u control chart give smoother result than conventional control chart for controlling the process. There are 6 observation was indicated “rather in control” so thet can become earlier warning for the company to improve the quality. The α-cut value or company’s level of accuracy used by 0,6.
