Abstract
Pengaruh penambahan KI pada media 2% NaCl
terhadap inhibisi kitosan pada korosi Tinplate telah diteliti
dengan menggunakan metode pengurangan berat dan
polarisasi potensiodinamik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan
bahwa penambahan 40 mg/L KI mengakibatkan terjadinya
efek sinergis optimum antara kitosan dan KI dalam
menginhibisi korosi Tinplate dalam media 2% NaCl yang
ditunjukkan dengan kenaikan nilai persentase efisiensi
inhibisi. Pada penelitian ini dihitung efisiensi inhibisi dengan
menggunakan blanko media korosi 2% NaCl dan media
korosi 2% NaCl + 10 mg/L kitosan. Persentase efisiensi
inhibisi dengan blanko media korosi 2% NaCl + 10 mg/L
kitosan menunjukkan %EI tertinggi pada penambahan 40
mg/L KI yaitu sebesar 80,41% dan nilai persentase efisiensi
inhibisi yang dihitung dengan blanko media korosi 2% NaCl
menunjukkan bahwa efek sinergis antara kitosan dengan KI
optimum pada penambahan 40 mg/L KI dengan nilai % EI
sebesar 86,50 %.

The influence of the addition of KI at 2% NaCl media
on the inhibition of chitosan on tinplate corrosion have been
studied by using weight loss method and potentiodynamic
polarization. The results showed that the addition of 40 mg / L
KI resulting optimum synergistic effect between chitosan and
KI to inhibit tinplate corrosion in 2% NaCl media that
indicated by the increase of the percentage of inhibition
efficiency. In this study, the inhibition efficiency calculated
using 2% NaCl corrosion media 2% NaCl corrosion media +
10 mg / L of chitosan as a blank. The percentage of inhibition
efficiency with blank 2% NaCl corrosion media + 10 mg / L
chitosan showed the highest %EI on addition of 40 mg / L of
KI in the amount of 80.41% and the percentage of inhibition
efficiency values were calculated using 2% NaCl corrosion
media as a blanko shows that the synergistic effect between
chitosan and KI are optimum when 40 mg / L of KI added in
corrosion media with 86.50% of inhibition efficiency .
