Abstract
Telah dihasilkan prototipe Dye Sensitized Solar Cell
(DSSC) berbasis TiO2 nanopartikel dengan variasi
penggunaan PEG (Polyethylene Glycol) dalam pembuatan
pasta TiO2 dan dye sintetis N-749 sebagai dye sensitizer. TiO2
orde nano berfase anatase dengan besar ukuran kristal 15.1
nm telah berhasil disintesis melalui metode koprepsipitasi.
Dalam penelitian ini sel difabrikasi menggunakan kaca
konduktif ITO (Indium Tin Oxide) dan berhasil dikarakterisasi
pengaruh penambahan PEG pada proses pembuatan pasta
TiO2. Karakterisasi DSSC menunjukkan performansi DSSC
yang dihasilkan, didapat dengan nilai efisiensi sebesar
0,047% dengan penambahan PEG 4000, 0.012% dengan
penambahan PEG 1000, dan 0.006% untuk penggunaan pasta
TiO2 tanpa PEG. Penambahan PEG pada proses pembuatan
pasta TiO2 mampu menghasilkan lapisan tipis TiO2 yang
terdistribusi secara merata serta memiliki porus yang dapat
meningkatkan jumlah dye yang terserap pada DSSC sehingga
meningkatkan performa DSSC.

Dye Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC) which used TiO2
nanoparticles with variation of the addition of PEG
(Polyethylene Glycol) onto TiO2 paste and N-749 dye as dye
sensitizer has been succesfully synthesized and characterized.
Synthesized TiO2 in this study was achieved in anatase phase
with crystal size of 15.1 nm using coprecipitation method. The
working electrode was prepared with three different paste
namely pure TiO2 paste, TiO2 paste added with PEG 1000 and
TiO2 paste added with PEG 4000 and the working electrodes
were then coated onto ITO (Indium Tin Oxide) by a doctor
blade. In this study, three working electrodes were used to
determine efficiency value of DSSC. The results showed that
the addition PEG 4000 onto TiO2 paste has an efficiency value
greater than the addition PEG 1000 onto TiO2 paste and pure
TiO2 paste, with an efficiency value can be achieved around
0.047%, 0.012% and 0.006%, respectively. The addition PEG
onto TiO2 can be improved the efficiency value due to effective
electron transport and enriched adsorption of dye on TiO2
surface.
