Abstract

Low Pressure Heater merupakan komponen yang berperan penting dalam effisiensi siklus, karena Low Pressure Heater adalah alat pemanas awal yang digunakan untuk meningkatkan efesiensi siklus dengan cara memanaskan air kondensat yang melewatinya. Media pemanas yang digunakan adalah uap yang diekstrak dari low pressure turbine
Dalam tugas akhir ini dilakukan analisis perpindahan panas tentang performa optimum low pressure heater. Analisis dilakukan dengan membahas koeffisien konveksi pada sisi tube dan koeffisien konveksi pada sisi shell. Data yang diambil berdasarkan data tiap zona. Dan perhitungan yang dilakukan merupakan perhitungan tiap zona pada low pressure feedwater heater. Dalam analisis dilakukan perhitungan secara LMTD (log mean temperature different) dan NTU Effectiveness oleh karena itu perhitungan harus dilakukan dengan mencari overall heat transfer koeffisien dan juga heat transfer total. Low pressure heater yang digunakan dalam analisis adalah LPH nomor 2 PLTU Unit 3 PT. PBJ UP Gresik.
Dari hasil analisis tersebut didapatkan performa optimum low pressure heater berdasarkan data design di dapat performa maksimum sebesar 8.49 MW.

The Low Pressure Feedwater Heater is a component that has an important role in the efficiency of the cycle, because Low Pressure Heater is the first heater component that used for improve the efficiency of the cycle by heating the condansater water that passing through it. The heating medium that used for it, is the steam extraction from low pressure turbine.
This final project performs an heat transfer’s analysis about the optimum performance of low pressure feedwater heater. The analysis is done by discussing about convection coefficient at the tube side and the convection coefficient the shell side. The datas have taken based on each zone. And this final project calculate each zone of low pressure feedwater heater. The method used in calculating the heat transfer rate and effectiveness of the low pressure feedwater heater is the Log Mean Temperature Different (LMTD) and Number of Transfer Units (NTU) and Effectiveness, because of it, it has to calculate overall heat transfer coefficient and heat transfer total too. And the low pressure feedwater heater that used in this final project is LPH number 2 in PLTU Unit 3 at PT. PJB UP Gresik
From the calculation, it is known that the optimum performance of low pressure feedwater heater is 8.49 MW. It known from the design’s data .
