Abstract
Seperti diketahui secara umum, galangan memiliki fasilitas docking berupa
graving dock/dry dock, dimana dock ini berupa kolam besar berada di tepi laut, konstruksi
sipilnya terdiri dari dinding dan lantai beton dan juga pintu (gate) berupa konstruksi baja yang
kontak langsung dengan laut. Konstruksi graving dock gate yang digunakan harus mampu
menahan beban dari gelombang laut yang setiap saat memiliki ketinggian permukaan air yang
berbeda. Dengan melakukan variasi pada konstruksi pintu didapatkan hasil desain yang cukup
optimal dari sisi kekuatan maupun sisi finansial. Di dalam Tugas Akhir ini dilakukan analisa
desain graving dock gate dengan variasi jarak gading serta analisa sisi ekonomisnya sehingga
akan mendapatkan graving dock gate yang optimum dari sisi kekuatan serta dari sisi finansial
(building cost). Pada Tugas Akhir ini terdapat empat variasi jarak gading yaitu jarak gading
0.55 m, 0.60 m, 0.65 m dan 0.70 m. Dengan bantuan metode elemen hingga didapatkan pintu
dengan jarak gading 0.7 m memiliki tegangan maksimum terendah dan pintu dengan jarak
gading 0.55 m memiliki tegangan maksimum paling tinggi. Perhitungan building cost yang
dilakukan, didapatkaan pintu dengan jarak gading 0.65 m memiliki building cost yang paling
rendah dan jarak gading 0.60 m memiliki building cost yang paling tinggi.

As is known in general, the shipyard has a docking facility as like graving
dock / dry dock, where the dock is a large pool by the sea, the civil construction of dock form
a concrete walls and floor and also the gate that form of steel construction that direct contact
with the sea. The construction of graving dock gate must be able to withstand the load of
ocean waves, that it has a different elevation of water surface every moment. By doing
variations of the gate construction, can get result an optimal design from the strength and
financial. In this final project, analysis graving dock gate with frame spacing and analysis of
the economic side that will get optimum graving dock gate from the side of strength and
financial (building cost). In this final project have four variation of frame spacing, it is frame
spacing within 0.55 m, 0.60 m, 0.65 m and 0.70 m. With the help of the finite element method,
obtained gate with 0.7 m of frame spacing has the lowest maximum stress and gate with frame
spacing of 0.55 m has the highest maximum stress. Calculation of building cost, has result
that the gate with frame spacing of 0.65 m has the lowest cost of building and gate with frame
sapcing of 0.60 m has the highest building costs.
