Abstract
Perencanaan dan pembuatan mesin press dan pencacah botol plastik ini ditujukan untuk mempermudah pengolahan limbah botol plastik. Dalam hal ini plastik yang digunakan adalah jenis termoplastik polyetheylene terephthalate (PET). Mesin ini diharap dapat digunakan di industri kecil terutama pada pengepul sampah botol plastik. Pembuatan mesin ini dimulai dari merancang mekanisme penekanan dalam proses pengepresan kemudian mekanisme pemotongan pada pisau pencacah. Perhitungan dimulai dengan mencari besarnya gaya pada sistem pneumatik kemudian pada elemen-elemenmesin yang digunakan dan besarnya kapasitas yang dihasilkan. Mesin press dan pencacah botol plastik ini direncanakan menggunakan dua buah metode penggerak yaitu kompresor dan motor listrik berkapasitas 27kg/jam. Menggunakan silinder pneumatik dengan ukuran 50 mm. Dan menggunakan footvalve sebagai pengarah udara dari kompresor menuju peneumatik. Penggerak yang digunakan adalah motor sebesar 1 Hp. Serta menggunakan 2 poros berhadapan dengan 16 pisau yang bermata pisau 3 setiap porosnya.

The designing and production of the press and shredder machine for plastic bottles is intended to simplify the processing of the waste from plastic bottles. In this case, the plastic which is used is a type of thermoplastic polyetheylene terephthalate (PET). This machine is expected to be used in small industries, especially in plastic bottle collectors. The production of this machine started from designing the suppression mechanism in the pressing process and the cutting mechanism on the chopper knife. The calculation began by seeking out the magnitude of the energy in the pneumatic system, then on the engine elements used and the amount of the capacity which was produced. This press and shredder machine for plastic bottles is designed by using two driving methods which are compressors and electric motors with a capacity of 27kg/hour. Moreover, it is also using pneumatic cylinders with a size of 50 mm and a footvalve to lead the way for the air from the compressor to the pneumatic. The drive tool which is used is a motor for 1 HP, as well as using 2 parallel axes with 16 knives which have 3 eyed-blades in each axis.
