Abstract
Salah satu indikator yang menunjukan baik buruknya suatu
demokrasi disuatu negara yaitu tingkat partisipasi memilih masyarakat
dalam suatu pemilihan umum. Semenjak proklamasi kemerdekaan
Indonesia sudah melaksanakan pemilihan umum Presiden sebanyak
sebelas kali dan yang terakhir dilaksanakan pada tahun 2014. Sejak
Pemilu tahun 1999 sampai tahun 2009 angka partisipasi memilih
masyarakat Indonesia cenderung menurun terus, hal ini juga berlaku
terhadap partisipasi memilih mahasiswa. Oleh karena itu perlu digali
faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi minat memilih seseorang, agar dapat
meningkatkan angka pertisipasi minat memilih berdasarkan faktorfaktor
tersebut. Pada penelitian sebelumnya ada tiga model yang
diduga dapat mempengaruhi minat memilih seseorang dalam suatu
pemilu yaitu model sosiologis, model psikologis, dan model pilihan
rasional. Ada empat belas faktor demografi yang diduga berpengaruh
yaitu, faktor angakatan, jenis kelamin, agama, asal daerah, pendidikan
orang tua, pekerjaan bapak, pekerjaan ibu, pendapatan orang tua,
media massa, frekuensi update, jenis informasi, aktif organisasi, suka
politik, pilihan capres dan ada untuk empat faktor persepsi yang
diduga berpengaruh yaitu faktor demokrasi Indonesia, kinerja
pemerintah, partisipasi politik, dam kualitas capres. Dengan
menggunakan metode analisis Regresi Logistik Biner diperoleh hasil,
ada perbedaan faktor yang mempengaruhi antar angkatan. Secara
umum untuk semua angkatan, variabel yang signifikan mempengaruhi
minat mahasiswa dalam memilih presiden adalah variabel demokrasi
Indonesia dan partisipasi politik, sedangkan untuk mahasiswa
angkatan 2011 untuk memilih presiden dipengaruhi variabel partisipasi
politik dan kualitas capres.

One of the indicators that show the good or bad a democracy in a
country that is the level of community participation in selecting a
election. Since the proclamation of Indonesia independence has been
implementing Presidential elections eleven times and the last one held in
2014. Since the election of 1999 to 2009 the participation rates to vote
in election of Indonesian people tend to decline included to the student
participation. Therefore, it needs to be explored the factors interests of
participation rate in elction, to increase the participation rate based on
these factors. In the previous studies, there are three models that could
be expected to affect the voting interests a person in election that are
model of sociological, psychological model, and rational choice model.
There are fourteen demography factor that expected to affect the voting
interest are religion, grade of student, gender, district, parent education,
father job, mother job, parent income, public media choice, public
media update frequently, information choice, active in organitation,
interest in politics, president candidate choice, and there are four
perception factor that expected to affect the voting interest are
democracy of Indonesia, government raport of work, politics
participation, and presidenst candidate quality. The result used binary
logistic regression is different factor that that affect the voting interest.
In generally for all grade factor that affected to voting interest are
democracy of Indonesia and politics participation, whereas for grade of
2011 the factors that affected to voting interest are politics participation
and president candidate quality
