Abstract

Air bahang merupakan air buangan setelah digunakan untuk mendinginkan kondensor suatu Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Uap (PLTU) yang bersuhu lebih tinggi dari pada suhu normal perairan. PLTU Paiton juga memiliki konsep pendinginan kondensor yang menggunakan air laut. Setidaknya 30-40 m3/detik air bahang dilepas ke lingkungan perairan di sekitarnya. Perubahan suhu air laut yang disebabkan oleh air buangan dari stasiun pembangkit berpotensi untuk mempengaruhi struktur komunitas ikan karang karena menurunnya kekayaan jenis; oleh karena itu perlu adanya penelitian untuk mengetahui struktur komunitas ikan karang di perairan terdampak air bahang PLTU Paiton, Probolinggo. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada Maret hingga Juli 2015 dengan dua kali pengambilan data. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada 3 stasiun yaitu pada area terumbu karang di sekitar mercusuar (MC) dan water intake canal (IC) serta water discharge canal (DC) yang terdampak air bahang. Pengamatan ikan karang menggunakan metode sensus visual. Perbedaan struktur komunitas dianalisis melalui indeks dominansi Simpson(C), indeks keanekaragaman Shannon-Wiener (H’), indeks kemerataan jenis (Pielou), indeks kesamaan komunitas Morisita-Horn (CMH) serta distribusi masing-masing spesies ikan karang (menggunakan teknik ordinasi canonical analysis). Perbedaan jumlah individu, jumlah jenis dan H’ sebagai pengaruh dari buangan air bahang dianalsis menggunakan ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) Two Way pada taraf kepercayaan 95% dan Tukey’s HSD Test untuk uji lanjutan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa faktor stasiun dan kedalaman hanya berpengaruh signifikan terhadap jumlah individu dan tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap jumlah spesies dan nilai indeks keanekaragaman. Secara keseluruhan nilai indeks keanekaragaman Shanon-Wiener (H’) termasuk dalam kategori sedang (2-3) dan tinggi (>3) serta terdapat kecenderungan pengelompokkan beberapa genus ikan karang di staisun tertentu sebagai dampak tidak langsung dari air bahang. ============================================================================================== Thermal discharge water is waste water after being used to cool the condenser of a steam power plant with a temperature higher than the normal temperature of the waters. Paiton also had a condenser cooling concept that uses sea water. At least 30-40 m3 / sec heated water released into the environment surrounding waters. Changes in sea water temperature caused by the thermal discharge water from the power plant has the potential to affect the reef fish community structure due to the decline of species richness therefore the need for research to determine the community structure of reef fish in the waters affected by thermal discharge water of Paiton, Probolinggo power plant. Research was conducted on March until July 2015 with twice the data retrieval. Data were collected at three stations, namely in the area of coral reefs around the lighthouse (MC) and the water intake canal (IC) and the water discharge canal (DC) which affected by thermal discharge water. Observation of coral fishes is done using visual census method. Differences in community structure were analyzed through Simpson dominance index (C), Shannon-Wiener diversity index (H ), evenness index (Pielou), community similarity index Morisita-Horn (CMH) as well as the distribution of each species of reef fish (using ordination canonical analysis techniques). Differences in the number of individuals, number of species and H as the effect of the thermal discharge water were analyzed using ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) Two Way at the level of 95 and Tukeys HSD Test for Post-hoc.Based on the results we concluded that the factor station and a depth only significant effect on the number of individuals and did not significantly influence the number of species and diversity index value. Overall value of Shannon-Wiener diversity index (H’) included in the medium category (2-3) and high ( 3), and there is a tendency of grouping several genera of reef fish at certain stations as indirect effects of heat water.
