Abstract

PT. Multiplastjaya Tatamandiri merupakan perusahaan yang
bergerak dalam bidang pembuatan kemasan plastik (plastic tube) untuk
kosmetik, salah satu produk yang dihasilkan adalah plastic tube ukuran
30 mm. Untuk menjaga kualitas dan menghindari kegagalan produk,
perusahaan melakukan quality inspection terhadap karakterisktik
kualitas yang meliputi ulir pecah atau dol, shoulder atau leher tube
jebol, orange peel, black spot, orifice atau lubang pada kepala tube
tidak simetris, orifice oval, dan tube penyok. Pengendalian kualitas
proses produksi tube ukuran 30 mm selama ini dilakukan dengan cara
yang sederhana yaitu mencatat menggunakan lembar pengamatan saja,
sehingga tidak dapat diketahui apakah proses produksi sudah terkendali
atau belum. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah proses
produksi plastic tube ukuran 30 mm sudah terkendali dan apa saja
factor penyebab cacat yang menjadi prioritas perbaikan. Berdasarkan
analisis yang telah dilakukan menggunakan peta kendali p multivariat,
diketahui bahwa proses produksi plastic tube 30 mm pada tahapan
drilling sudah terkendali. Jenis cacat yang yang menjadi prioritas
perbaikan adalah cacat orifice oval. Faktor penyebab cacat orifice oval
diantaranya yaitu campuran bahan baku yang kurang baik, bahan sulit
di plong, pengeplongan tidak tepat di tengah, operator kurang teliti dan
kelelahan, setting ukuran pada mesin tidak sesuai dan pemotongan
kurang sempurna sehingga lubang berbentuk oval.

PT. Multiplastjaya Tatamandiri is a company engaged in the
manufacture of plastic packaging (plastic tube) for cosmetics, one of the
resulting product is a plastic tube with a size of 30 mm. To maintain
quality and avoid product failure, the company conducts quality
inspection on quality of characteristics which include screw ruptured,
broken shoulder, orange peel, black spot, unsymmetrical orifice, oval
orifice, and tube bender. During this time control quality of production
process which is done by PT. Multiplastjaya Tatamandiri still using a
simple way that called check sheet, where the information can’t identify
whether the production process was under control or not. This study
aims to determine whether the production process of plastic tube with a
size of 30 mm was under control and what are the factors causing
defects priority repairs. Based on the analysis conducted using
multivariate p control chart, it is known that the production process of
plastic tube 30 mm in the drilling phase was under control. Types of
defect that prioritized to be repaired are defect of oval orifice. Factors
that cause defects oval orifice such as imperfect blending of raw
materials, materials that are difficult to make a hole, perforations are
not right in the middle, less scrupulous operators and fatigue, size
setting on the machine is not appropriate and cutting is not perfect so
the hole is oval.
