Abstract

Ligan 2-metil-4,5-difenil-1H-imidazol telah berhasil disintesis. Ligan tersebut dikarakterisasi dengan menggunakan 1H NMR, 13C NMR dan FTIR. Ligan yang diperoleh dikomplekskan dengan ion logam kobalt(II). Kompleks yang didapatkan berupa padatan polikristalin berwarna hijau kehitaman dengan formula [CoL2Cl2(H2O)2]∙3,5H2O (L=2-metil-4,5-difenil- 1H-imidazol). Rumus molekul kompleks didukung oleh hasil analisis kadar unsur CHN dan ion logam dalam senyawa kompleks. Hasil analisis menunjukkan kadar unsur (%) C, H, N dan Co yang diperoleh secara berturut-turut adalah 55,17(55,13); 5,68(5,63); 8,07(8,04) dan 8,53(8,45). Karakterisasi FTIR menunjukkan adanya spektrum vibrasi Co-N pada 449,43 cm-1 dan Co-Cl pada 422,42 cm-1. Rumus molekul diperkuat dengan hasil analisis termogravimetri yang menunjukkan adanya air kristal dalam kompleks yang terbentuk. Nilai LC50 dengan metode Brine Shrimp Lethality Test dari ligan 2-metil-4,5-difenil-1H-imidazol sebesar 208,80 ppm, sedangkan pada kompleks [CoL2Cl2(H2O)2]∙3,5H2O sebesar 168,24 ppm. Nilai LC50 dari kedua senyawa tersebut kurang dari 1000 ppm sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa kedua senyawa tergolong senyawa aktif toksik pada larva udang Aretmia salina. ========== Ligand 2-methyl-4,5-diphenyl-1H-imidazole have been successfully synthesized. The Ligand is characterized by using 1H NMR, 13C NMR and FTIR. Ligand was complexed with metal ion cobalt(II). The complex obtained in the form of blackish green polycrystalline solid with formula [CoL2Cl2(H2O)2]∙3,5H2O (L=2-methyl-4,5-diphenyl-1H-imidazole). Molecular formula of complex is supported by the result of CHN elemental and metal ions analysis content in complex compounds. The result of the analysis showed content of element (%) C, H, N and metal ion Co(II) were obtained 55,17(55,13); 5,68(5,63); 8,07(8,04) and 8,53(8,45), respectively. FTIR characterization of vibrational spectrum showed existence of Co-N at 449.43 cm-1 and Co-Cl at 422.42 cm-1. The molecular formula is reinforced by the results of thermogravimetric analysis which indicate the presence of lattice water in complex form. The LC50 value with Brine Shrimp Lethality Test of ligand 2-methyl-4,5-diphenyl-1H-imidazole and complex [CoL2Cl2(H2O)2]∙3,5H2O amounted to 208,80 ppm and 168.24 ppm, repectively. The LC50 value of both these compounds less than 1000 ppm so it can be concluded that both compounds are classified as toxic active compounds in shrimp larva Aretmia salina.
