Abstract
Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) adalah sistem
perlindungan logam terhadap korosi dengan menggunakan
sumber arus DC dari luar sistem. Kutub positif sumber arus DC
dihubungkan dengan anode inert (grafit) sedangkan kutub negatif
sumber arus DC dihubungkan dengan logam atau katoda yang
akan dilindungi dari serangan korosi. ICCP digunakan karena
sistem proteksi ini memiliki beberapa kelebihan diantaranya
mudah untuk mengontrol arus proteksi, dapat memproteksi luasan
yang cukup besar, mudah mendeteksi kerusakan pada sistem
proteksi, dan dapat digunakan di berbagai macam jenis katoda dan
lingkungan yang berbeda. Pada perancangan ini dilakukan desain
ICCP pada katoda API 5L grade B dengan pemberian coating dan
tanpa coating dengan kondisi lingkungan yang terus berubah.
Pada pipa tanpa coating, arus yang diperlukan lebih besar
dibandingkan dengan pipa coating, perubahan lingkungan
membuat kondisi lingkungan berubah menjadi lembab dan kering
maupun sebaliknya. Saat kondisi lingkungan basah, nilai
resistvitas tanah menurun menyebabkan keperluan arus proteksi
meningkat, sementara saat kondisi lingkungan kering, nilai
resistivitas tanah meningkat menyebabkan keperluan arus proteksi
menurun.

Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) is a system of
metal protection against corrosion by using DC current source
from outside the system. The positive pole of DC current source is
connected to the inert anode (graphite) while the negative pole of
the DC current source connected with metal or cathode to be
protected from corrosion. ICCP has several advantages such as
easy to control the current protection, had large surface area
protection, easy to detect damage the protection system, and can
be used in various types of cathodes and a different environment.
The ICCP design used for cathode pipe steel API 5L grade B with
coating and without coating therefore the environmental
conditions continually changing. Pipe without coating indicates
need huge current protection more than pipe with coating. The
conditions of environmental changes from moist and dry and the
reversed ,when conditions are wet, the value of soil resistivity is
decrease, its led to the purposes of current protection increases,
while conditions is dry, soil resistivity values increase causing the
current protection is decreases
