Abstract
Peningkatan kompetisi dan kerjasama yang global telah menciptakan
tantangan logistik yang kritis dalam perencanaan dan pengelolaan keseluruhan
supply chain. Salah satu bagian dari supply chain adalah bidang distribusi yang
memegang peranan penting sebagai salah satu strategi perusahaan untuk
meningkatkan kepuasan konsumen. Besarnya biaya distribusi mencapai sekitar
38.91% dari total pengeluaran perusahaan, sehingga merupakan sebuah keuntungan
bagi perusahaan jika mampu menekan biaya distribusi, salah satunya adalah
distribusi menggunakan jalur laut untuk pupuk curah. Distribusi menggunakan jalur
laut yakni kapal seringkali membutuhkan waktu yang lama. Hal ini semakin sulit
dikarenakan permintaan pupuk yang musiman, sehingga perusahaan harus memiliki
fasilitas Distribution Center (DC) untuk melakukan persediaan di wilayah tujuan
distribusi. Pada penelitian ini dirancang sebuah simulasi penjadwalan kapal untuk
pengiriman pupuk curah, dimana penentuan jumlah kapal, posisi awal kapal, dan
pengubahan batas coverage days DC juga dilakukan. Dari hasil penelitian yang
didapatkan bahwa besarnya demand akan mempengaruhi jumlah kapal yang
dibutuhkan dan alternatif selain penambahan jumlah kapal seperti pengubahan batas
coverage days akan membantu perusahaan dalam meminimalkan stockout di DC.

The increased global cooperation and competition has created critical
logistic challenges in planning and managing the entire of supply chain. Distribution
as part of the supply chain plays an important role as one of the company’s strategy
to increase customer satisfaction. The amount of distribution cost taking into account
is about 38.91% of the total company expenditure, hence an advantage for the
company if it is able to reduce the distribution costs, which one of them is
distribution using sea lines for the bulk fertilizer. Unfortunately, distribution using
sea lanes often takes a long time. This is getting more complex due to seasonal
demand for fertilizer, so the company have to conduct inventory in the facility called
Distribution Center. This research designs a simulation scheduling of ships for
delivery of bulk fertilizers, in which the determination of the number of ships, the
initial position of the ship, and the changing of the DC’s coverage days limits was
also performed. From the research results showed that the magnitude of demand will
affect the number of ships required and the alternatives beside increase the number
of ships such as the changing of the coverage days limits will help the company
minimize stockout in DC.
