Abstract
Penerapan konsep fluida sering digunakan untuk menyelesaikan
permasalahan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari salah satunya yaitu
permasalahan fluida di sekitar silinder sirkuler. Pada penelitian ini
bertujuan untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan fluida di sekitar dua
silinder sirkuler yang tersusun side-by-side menggunakan persamaan
Navier-Stokes. Persamaan Navier-Stokes incompressible, viscous dan
unsteady diselesaikan menggunakan metode beda hingga staggered grid
dan algoritma SIMPLE (Semi Implicit Method for Pressure-Linked
Equation). Metode beda hingga digunakan untuk menyelesaikan
susunan grid yang digunakan sedangkan algoritma SIMPLE digunakan
untuk memperoleh nilai komponen kecepatan dan tekanan. Hasil dari
penelitian ini adalah memperoleh nilai koefisien hambat yang
berdasarkan profil aliran fluida dan distribusi tekanan yang diterima
silinder. Profil aliran fluida disimulasikan dengan variasi bilangan
Reynolds yaitu 100, 500, 1000, 3000, 5000 dan variasi jarak antar
silinder dengan rasio 1.5 ≤

The application of fluid concept is often used to solve problems in
everyday, one of them is the problem of fluid around circular cylinder. In
this study aims to solve the problems of fluid around two circular
cylinders arranged side-by-side using the Navier-Stokes equations.
Navier-Stokes equations for incompressible, viscous and unsteady solved
using finite difference methods staggered grid and SIMPLE algorithms
(Semi Implicit Method for Pressure Linked Equation). Finite difference
method is used to solve for complete the grid arrangement and the
SIMPLE algorithm is used to obtain components of velocity and pressure
value. Results of this study was to obtain the coefficient of drag that is
based on fluid flow profile and pressure distributions received cylinder.
Fluid flow profile is simulated with variations of Reynolds numbers are
100, 500, 1000, 3000, 5000 and variation of the distance between cylinder
with the ratio 1.5≤ L / D ≤ 4 where L is the distance between the cylinder
and D is the diameter of the cylinder. Then calculate the pressure
distribution is based on the value of the received cylinder pressure
components. After obtaining the pressure distribution value, then
calculate the drag coefficient received cylinder. The result is greater the
Reynolds number, the smaller the coefficient of drag that is acceptable
cylinder. The wider the distance between the cylinder then drag
coefficient smaller value closer to the value of the coefficient of the
resistor in the condition of a single cylinder. Having completed the drag
coefficient, making the coefficient of drag on the distance equation (L/D).
