Abstract

Plastik High density polyethylene (HDPE) dijadikan bahan alternatif
pembangunan kapal pompong untuk wilayah perairan Riau pesisir. Hal tersebut
dikarenakan keterbatasan bahan kayu pada saat ini. Untuk menentukan spesifikasi
kapal pompong, dilakukan tinjauan terhadap kebutuhan kapal pompong terbanyak
oleh pengguna yang ada di wilayah perairan riau pesisir. Kapal pompong nelayan
3 GT dijadikan sebagai basic ship dalam mendesain kapal plastic HDPE untuk
perairan Riau pesisir dengan panjang kapal yaitu 10,2 m.
Evaluasi desain dilakukan berdasarkan evalusi teknis, regulasi maupun
permintaan owner. Secara teknis kapal pompong dapat terapung dengan tinggi
sarat 0,232 m. Evaluasi terhadap regulasi meliputi free board dan stabilitas kapal
telah terpenuhi sesuai peraturan menteri dan kreteria International Maritime
Organization (IMO), sedangkan perhitungan konstruksi sesuai rule class kapal.
Evaluasi terhadap permintaan owner yaitu evaluasi terhadap gross tone (GT)
kapal telah terpenuhi.
Kekuatan tarik plastic HDPE diuji sesuai standar ASTM D638-02a dengan
tujuan untuk mengetahui sifat kekuatan bahan dan kemudian akan dibandingkan
dengan kekuatan bahan yang telah memenuhi standar oleh rule class kapal. Hasil
dari pengujian didapatkan kekuatan Yield Strength sebesar 17,12 Mpa dan
Ultimate Strangth sebesar 24,82 MPa.
Verifikasi analisa finite element method (FEM) dilakuakan dengan
pembuatan model kapal yang dibuat menggunakan ANSYS Workbench 12.0
sebanyak 3 load case model. Dari ketiga load case model tersebut tegangan
terbesar terjadi pada saat kondisi load case 1 dan load case 3, Load case 1 yaitu
kondisi muatan ikan kosong, muatan jaring 100% dan bahan bakar 100%
sedangkan load case 3 yaitu pada saat muatan penuh 100%, muatan jaring 100%
dan bahan bakar 10%. Adapun tegangan tarik terbesarnya adalah 11,67 MPa,
namun demikian tegangan tersebut tidak melibihi dari 17 MPa yang disyaratkan
oleh rule class dan memiliki safety factor sebesar 1,45, sedangkan tegangan
kompresi terbesar adalah 15,82 MPa dengan safety factor sebesar 1,26 terhadap
standar yang diberikan rule class.

High density polyethylene plastic (HDPE) used as an alternative material for the
construction of pompong ships in Riau coastal waters. This is due to limitations of the
wood material at this time. To determine the specifications pompong ship, conducted a
review of the needs of most users pompong vessel in the territorial waters of the coastal
riau. Pompong 3 GT fishing boats used as basic ship in HDPE plastic vessel design for
the coastal waters of Riau with length of the vessel is 10.2 m.
Design evaluation carried out by the technical evaluation, with regulation and
owner requests. Technically, pompong vessel can float laden with 0.232 m draft. The
evaluation of the regulations include free board and the stability of the ship have been
fulfilled according to the rules and criteria ministerial International Maritime
Organization (IMO), while the corresponding calculation rule class ship construction.
Evaluation of the owner requests that an evaluation of the gross tone (GT) ship has been
fulfilled.
The tensile strength of HDPE plastic D638-02a tested according to ASTM
standards in order to determine the nature and strength of the material will then be
compared with the strength of the material that has met the standard by ships class rule.
The results obtained from testing the strength of 17.12 MPa Yield Strength and Ultimate
Strength of 24.82 MPa.
Verification of finite element analysis method (FEM) is done by making a model
ship made using ANSYS Workbench 12.0 3 load case as a model. Of the third load case
that model the greatest stress occurs when the case load conditions 1 and load case 3
Load case 1 is the condition of empty fish cargo, cargo nets 100% and 100% fuel load
while the third case, namely when the full charge of 100%, net charge of 100% and 10%
fuel. The greatest tensile stress is 11.67 MPa, however, the voltage does not exceed 17
MPa required by class rules and have a safety factor of 1.45, while the largest
compression tension is 15.82 MPa with a safety factor of 1.26 against given standard
class rule.
